But what running surface should we keep it on? I am unsure as to whether I should be running on grass or asphalt.

Assuming your second point is partially right (and why shouldn't it be) doesn't that make sense? If she's going to be out a year or 2 for a baby, why not throw some extra cash in the bank to sit on. Especially since that baby will only draw more expenses every month?

10K for a good finish in a fall marathon? You're joking right? Her prize money would be far more than that, and her appearance fee would probably be six figures.
This may actually be a rare decision by a "big name" runner that's not primarily motivated by money.
The Oregonian is also reporting that Kara will run the 5000 or 10,000 at the USA Championships...but not take a spot in either of those events at the Worlds, since she'll do the marathon there.
True, vanity and air-headedness are probably bigger factors in this.
Do you have a credible news source ? A real newspaper or real TV station website for instance.
