I'm sorry, but I really find it unbelievable that we can have over 300 responses to a thread about some guy (Rexing) but can only have 25 responses to my thread that I started titled "RUNNING CAN BE POPULAR IN AMERICA." I was trying to facilitate a conversation about how to get running more popular in America. I noted that it is very easy to build at least a small fan base (especially a college team), but no one makes any effort to reach out to the community, and to local running clubs. All college teams have to do is reach out a little and invite running clubs and high school runners out to meets. Instead this is rarely ever done, and we wonder why running is not as popular as other sports such as football and basketball. The only way to get running popular on a national level is for all colleges across the nation to reach out. Then, running will become more personal and a more attractive sport to watch. I believe this new atmosphere will spread to non-runners in addition to current runners. If you care about the popularity of our sport (which definitely is important to the success of the sport as a whole), PLEASE look at my thread which should be a few threads down from this one!
