I noticed it also, how thin she is. There was a long thread on a high school girl looking so thin. If it's genetics it's o.k. If not, there will be some long term problems and one can count on the stress fractures coming.
I think running 19:20 for whatever the distance was, but almost 30 seconds ahead of the rest of the field, which included many other top-ranked women, is very fast for an 18/19 year old frosh....very, very fast. Having coached a few Olympians in my time, I know that it is possible to crank out some incredible performances in a hurry with young, talented, hungry athletes, as Kendra obviously is. My comment, when taken in context, refers to the fact that I really want to see her improving over the next several years, because she clearly has the potential to do some amazing things in her running career.
The race videos and photos are now posted.

Thank you!
I don't know but Rupp just beat a guy Derrick who ran roughly the same mark at Pre Nats by 43 seconds, looks like he is fairly ready for Chelenga.
I think now is as good as time as any to mention that Schaff's high school coach is THE guy who coached Simon Bairu and Danette Doetzel (9th in her frosh year before getting screwed over by Michigan St., but most recently medalled at 2008 NCAA Outdoor's 10km) during their high school years. There are actually quite a few other national champions (Non-NCAA) under his belt in recent years as well. The man does great work and it really doesn't surprise me seeing her run as fast as she is now. Look out come Nats!
Rupp will own at Nats. Heard it here first. And I am half a bottle of coco rum deep on my girlfriend's comp. But it's happening home boys.

Is there any better NCAA XC Conference meet than PAC 10's? Damn... Stanford, Oregon, Washington, etc...
By the way, Rupp looked World Class yesterday. Gonna be interesting vs. Chelanga... will anyone else dare run their pace? McNeil?
It's always hard to gauge how much faster someone might have run, when they look like they're not pushing it, but Rupp appears to be in really good shape at the right time.

if you want to praise bairu, schaff and doetzel's coach as "THE guy" it seems giving his name would be a good thing to do.
and how was doetzel "screwed over" by michigan state? you might give us that story too.
I would not want to bet against the Dawg gals. They not only put on a show, they were having FUN. Just the look on their faces told one that this is their year. Oregon could still be #2 but they might as well mail the trophy to Seattle.
The Oregon men looked ok but not unbeatable. Galen, Luke and sort of Shadrack are fine. Please coach, do not run Wheating at Nationals. He almost didn't finish the 8K. Sure, he was 4th for the team, but there are better 10K runners on the team. Diego, Curtis, Matt, Daniel. Galen did run within himself. The race in Indiana show be a good show.
There are some cute girls on the UW team. My favorite graduated last year, though :(
The Oregon women placed 5 in the top 15 and lose by 40!. Wow. I wonder if that's ever been done.
Stanford looks good for next year too, as they have four more top recruits who will do great things as red shirt freshmen. Johnson and Havel are good enough to have been candidates for #5 this year.
Ben Johnson, Fr, Stanford, 24:55 Stan Invite (9:07 Steeple)
Kevin Havel, Fr, Stanford, 25:14 SI (7th at 2007 Footlocker)
Riley Sullivan, Fr, Stanford (19th at 2007 Footlocker)
Miles Unterreiner, Fr, Stanford, 25:46 SI (28th at 2007 Footlocker)
The guy may produce great athletes.. but it should be noted that he is NUTS.
And why hasnt anyone commented on how disgustingly skinny Kendra looks... she probably only weights 80lbs.
There are several comments on Shaaf looking too thing, earlier in this thread.
