Anybody worn those MBT's to help posture, hip alignment, etc. Not to train. Just to wear around? Did they help?

My mom bought a pair and absolutely loves them. I have tried them on and was less impressed. I felt like they were weighted, which made me concerned about the effects of wearing them all the time. My sister also tried them on and loved them so much she immediately bought 2 pair for herself. She felt that it did correct her posture.
Do the masai really have convex feet wierd. the shoes are also expensive, which helps shoe salspeople comissions.
Personally, I think they could cause injury if you wore them a lot (maybe depending on what kind of shoes you wore before as well).
what shoe are you talking about exactly?
Those look outrageously stupid. Reminds me of this:
if you want to sell a quack foot product, claim it "reduces joint stress" and "improves balance and posture." Also, show lots of scientific-looking graphs and charts.
Why not just walk around barefoot a couple hours a day? Surely, this is the best way to get the benefits of "barefoot technology"
Love my sandals. I do stand up straighter in trhem and they are comfortable for walking, have worn them all day with no problems. Be careful going down stairs. I have arthritis in my big toe and it keeps pressure off of it.
From what I heard, the Masai strap old pieces of rubber tires on their feet. I guess that wouldn't have quite the same price point as the MBTs. Seems like a racket, but I also know people who swear by them.
They do do that, but it has absolutely nothing to do with any curvature. I bought a bunch of pairs of the tire shoes while there (Tanzania), and while the majority of what they wear were just flat pieces of shaved rubber, some even used flattened liter soda bottles. Nothing to do with a shoe like this. I call Scams.
I've been able to see these shoes up close and personal in a shop recently, and from what I saw I wouldn't wear them. I can just imagine someone going from a clunky trainer with a huge heel to wearing the Masai boots all the time and then wondering why they have some huge injury. The ones I saw ... I mean seriously, look at this: http://www.besportier.com/archives/nasai-barefoot-technology-shoes.jpg
I's basically an attempt to give humans wheels.
The shoe supposedly mimics the effect of walking in sand.
You intuition would probably suggest that walking in sand would require building the lump underfoot in the opposite direction. More like a large arch support.
