Short course, but by how much? Any guesses.
Was the 3 mile split accurate? Any guesses.

i think the 3 mile might be accurate with the last half mile was a little short.
There were questions about this last year, too. I feel like it was short (again?)

I would say our turnaround at the 180 turn on Monroe was a solid block short (thus a two block shortening of the course). The turnaround at the 180 on Congress Parkway was probably 15 feet short. The Monroe was the very strange one. There was no mark or anything on the pavement to indicate that that was where we should 180. Just the end of one of those people fence thingies.
One mile split was OK, but it was a short mile. Two mile split was at least 20 seconds long. Three mile split was probably in the right place, but it was a short mile because the 2nd mile was long. The last half mile was at least 15-20 seconds short at 6:30 pace.
Overall I'd say it was about a full minute short. But what a beautiful evening for a race, huh? You could almost see your breath out there it was so cool.
I thought the course was short as well, but I mapped it afterwards and it looks legit. THe 2 mile mark was at the wrong spot though
i just mapped it to, obviously its not 100% accurate. looks like the 2 mile was off a little (long), 3 mile was spot on. i mapped the whole race to be 3.42, so take that for what its worth.
I agree that the course was short. Not sure how much -- perhaps around a minute.
Unfortunately, I missed the 2nd and 3rd mile markers so I can't tell from them.
A fun night, though, despite the chilly weather.
I know I was having a good day, but my last 1/2 was 2:22 off 5:35 pace - so I was figuring about 20-25 seconds short overall.
Heck of an effort by the overall winner though. 16:03 - even adding on 20 seconds for .08 mile is 4:43 pace.
