I had been having some pain in my right calf recently, as well as tightness in my right hamstring. I could run on it, o.k, but it was mildly annoying. I have bumped up mileage and intensity recently. So I got a new pair of shoes and thought I had it licked, but last night an hour and 20 minutes into my long run, my calf really started hurting. I had to shuffle home, walking several times. It is still tender today.
It hurts when I walk and hurts when I bend my leg all the way. I'm going to lay low for a few days, ice, stretch, etc. Any other suggestions on speading recovery? Any diagnosis? Strain, pull, tear? Any help would be appreciated.
