Are multi-vitamins worth taking? Sometimes I feel like when I take them I am just pissing them right out. Are they worth the money?

I actually take an iron-free mutlivitamin.
The iron ones tend to make me constipated for some reason.
I am 35 and I think it makes a difference for me.
I honestly think it has helped me somehow with water-retention issues and bloated stomach. I also have experienced adrenal fatigue and eczema skin disorders in the past and I am convinced my vitamins helped. But then again, I've learned to eat more healthy. No more pasta and potatoes and more greens, sweet potatoes, and decent proteins (from both meats and tofu).
thank-you for you input. I am going to buy some multi's tomorrow
CENTRUM are best.de Castella used and promoted them.
I think vitamins are important because most Americans diets are lacking in quality.
In a perfect world you should not be ingesting items that have ingredient lists that are not whole foods.
For example it is OK to eat a meal made up from whole foods but pretty much anything that is mass produced and in packages is crap.
That said....unfortunately most Americans eat the later and distance athletes can be worse because they burn so many calories that they feel they can replace them with high calorie crap like McDonald's etc.
Long story short Vitamin are important to make sure you are filling the gaps with any vitamin or mineral deficiencies you may have in your diet.
I highly suggest a good quality wholefood product like
take the male or female formula based on your gender :) That's easy enough.

Cooper Complete Elite. Running has improved since I started taking them. It could just be an age thing (55) but I seem to recover faster.

QFE?
quoted for emphasis. It's a dying term, the new wave is QFT (quoted for truth)

QFT has already been played out. Nowadays it's all about the PFP (paraphrased for pleasure).
I started using the multiv from first endurance after having good results with their optygen product. Since starting it, i've dumped the optygen and am just using the multiv and notice a difference.
'Worth' the money is always a subjective thing. Is it 'worth the money' to have a coach or 'worth the money' to spend $x on a recovery supplement. I'm at the point in my career where every sec counts, so spending a few extra $$ on a quality vitamin vs a few extra beers on a fri or sat is worth it.
Gotcha re: the QFE...sorry that was the first time I had ever seen that :)
