dis here is Karl Malone
Wow, I had no idea. What an asshole.
Being a man who was abandoned by his biolgical father (calling him dad is too generous), and verbally abused the few times I saw him, I can totally relate to how he feels.
he impregnated a 13 year old and never went to jail?
So Karl Malone neither needs nor wants a relationship with his son and his son neither needs nor wants a relationship with his father.
Sounds like a happy ending
Happy Ending? Apparently so...

ya, the fact that his mom was 13 when she got knocked up by malone is the thing that makes me sicked out. 13 and he was like 20 or 21. disgusting.
He could have gone to jail but the girl's family didn't press charges for reasons nobody knows.
Don't endings need beginnings? This "relationship" never had one.
I'm glad his kid didn't go haywire and let it ruin his self esteem. I just hope he doesn't hold a grudge. It took me a while to get to that point, but I realize it was all his loss and it's made me a much better father. I pour my life in to my children and even changed jobs to have more time to spend with them. I made a promise that if I were ever blessed with children, I'd never treat them like my dad treated me.
I'm also confused. How did Karl Malone impregnate a 13 yr old girl, have it proved in court, and not suffer any legal consequences outside of having to pay $125 a week in child support?
Also I can't believe he wasn't willing to pay $200/wk when he was making millions in the NBA, to take care of his own son.
What really irks me is that athletes like Malone will continue to be the face and voice of companies and their products around the world, continuing to increase in popularity despite fathering children out of wedlock, marital infidelity, and having no respect for the laws that most of us try to live by (sex w/ a 13 yr old minor).
I know that none of us are perfect, but I'm also just tired of seeing our society reward total a**holes by turning them into spokespeople and thus role models, while guys like Karl Malone have banquets in their honor and laugh all the way to the bank.
Is there a statute of limitations for this kind of crime?

Happy Ending to the **story**, not to "relationship". We are all aware that there never was relationship.
There just isn't anything you can say that adequately describes what a low end piece of trash M***** really is.
Unbelievable.
How can that guy live with himself?

Yeah, that's what you meant.

Three years in Tennessee, I believe. What a POS! No wonder the Jazz never won the big one. No character.
13? actually, she had the kid when she was 13, so could conceivably have been 12 when she received the mailman's package. thats disgusting. i can almost understand a 17 or 16 year old. at least those girls are matured into women (physically... not mentally). but 12? thats still 2-3 years from puberty for most girls. sick.
C'mon guys, give the Mailman a break. From personal experience, I know how difficult it is to tell how old a girl may be. Besides if she was old enough to get knocked up, I'm sure she didn't look like a typical 12 year old.
Free R. Kelly!

Malone's paternity was proven in a civil suit for child support, not a criminal suit charging statutory rape or the like. Different courts/different standards/different parties, etc. Remember OJ Simpson winning the criminal case but losing the civil case?
Who knows if statutory rape is even on the books in Louisiana...
