Not sure where you got those W&L times. They may be from last year or indoors or something else. They are very good about posting current stats on the website. I ran there a few years ago, so I'm not totally up on the times, but I do sort of keep up.
The distance guys at W & L tend to favor cross over track. They have won their conference in cross for the last four years, finished fourth in the region last year with three guys first team all region. Those three guys can go mid-15's in the 5k. Nate Johnson (who graduated a couple of years ago) ran 14:59, won the region in cross and went low 9's in the steeple. I know they have at least two guys on the team now who have gone sub 2 for the 800. The 3000 is an event they don't run much at all or that they run as a workout.
Basically, it's a solid d3 program, not as elite as most of the nescac schools, but better than most other d3's. With your times, you'd probably do fairly well at school like that, but not so well at any decent d1 program. Hardest part about W & L is getting in. They only took 15% this year, and they give athletes virtually no admissions help.
