Boathouse Sports has opened a Facebook.com fans page for everyone who likes our gear to join. Our 400th (we are currently over 350) fan will get a Boathouse prize pack full free gear. Also, we are running a Name Your Game track and field contest where you can post your Track and Field slogans right on the wall, and vote on a winner. The winner will get their slogan printed on a bunch of tee shirts and hoodys... Become a fan!
what do they win?
We will send the 400th fan a sport specific prize pack that includes performance T's, sac packs, hats etc.

Yeah, that sounds really cool. I have been spending quite a bit of time thinking about life recently. And it is clear that what I am really missing is having a sports uniforms manufacturer on my friends list.
Why the hell would anyone have Boathouse Sports on their friends list?

Our fans page, not our friends list. Our friends list is private.
Our FANS page is where we sponsor events, let you post your athletic pics for people in your athletic community and talk shop. Besides posting your events and pics, you are networking to other runners in a different way than on a message board. We sponsor a bunch of the events that people are looking to recruit sponsors for(such as the Baldwin Inviational or the Head of the Charles) through our fan site. We give out tons of free gear (sports specific) hold contests such as the Name Your Game contest where you get to submit YOUR slogan about YOUR sport and then the winning slogans are printed up on our gear and given to the person who came up with it... Besides all of that, we generally promote all athletics... why wouldnt you want to join?
I would urge anyone to think twice before doing business with this company. We ordered some gear for our team a while back and the bill came with substantial additional charges that we had not been forewarned about. Also, they were unable to correctly sew the spelling of all team members names from a typed list we had provided. Not recommended!

Im pretty sure i was the 400th fan. If so this would be the first time in my life i have won anything. I was beginnint to lose hope that it would ever happen.

its not a PR strategy. it is an interest in the running community as a former collegiate distance runner strategy. it is a "hey, we are giving away free stuff, why not give it to my people" strategy. if your offended by that, apologies.
ohhhhhhhh a "fans page". that makes so much more sense. it's kind of like a sports team that has fans, but with the slight twist that this is a uniform manufacturer. Boathouse PR is definitely going to be a hot pick in my fantasy uniform manufacturer draft.
does anyone know whether there are any cool gasket companies on facebook with fans pages?
