Freelance trombone player. Hey, trailrunner65, I'm a trailrunner too!

I'm a hack trombone player in a few full bands , but I have a lot of fun with it. Played all through high school, then after a 45 year break, took it back up again 2 years ago. I have now returned to my prior level of mediocrity !

I've been playing guitar for close to 15 years. Did quite a few shows when I was younger, but haven't performed much recently. I also pick up some cash on the side doing custom mods on effects pedals. Flagpole - you guys should chip in and spring for a better wah for your guitarist. Also, loved your version of "Easy" - it sounded just the way I imagined it would! Very nice.
Eyegore,
Thanks for the props on Easy. I don't record myself singing all that often, so that was fun to do.
Regarding equipment for our guitarist, do remember that that was all recorded live (except for Crossroads) so a little is lost there. He's pretty much got top of the line gear, but I'll admit I don't know about levels of wah pedals; his is a Cry Baby. When I play guitar, I just plug into my amp and play -- I'm not good enough at guitar for lots of effects pedals.
shaun dever is amazing, by the way. ;-)
if you don't download his "summer shoes" you'll be missing out fo show.
you can always count on your real life friends to plug your stuff on the web. thanks dude.
this thread is pretty sweet...some solid tunes on here.
Flagpole, I'm impressed. this is definitely a much needed thread. We should keep it going for a while. Hey, who knows, if there's a number of us runner/musicians in one area, say club nationals or such, we could get together and play the after party. good stuff so far.
Here's my own myspace:
I was reluctant to put it up here, it's all really low key, first efforts. I've taken a big jump since, but I've backed off on doing any shows or recording until after the trials. I'll put up something legit in a few months.
here's my bro's again, I do do the artwork for the band.
Trpt player here. Since 7 yrs old. Big band, mainly-jazz and Latin speciality. Navy School of Music, Cal-State Fullerton grad/music. Retired ten yrs ago, but still hit it once in a while. Miles, Clifford, Chet, Clark T., Satch, Diz, Freddie H., Terrence B, et al ( even Al--Hirt :))

I recorded parts of a jam I had with some random cats I hooked up with on a boondoggle to San Fransisco. I usually play guitar too, but I just sang on this occasion. There was moonshine and other inebriates involved, so it quickly degenerated into drunken caterwauling. Here are a couple of the examples of your government tax dollars at work.
Also, don't know if this has been covered before, but Michael Tolcher who ran for Georgia Tech is a fairly successful musician now. Not sure if he is a member on this message board or not.

Hey brother, I'm not one to give out lots of compliments with regard to others' music (not because I'm all that, but because I've heard LOTS of unknown musicians who ARE all that), but To Build A Wall is outstanding. The others are very good too, but To Build A Wall is my favorite. Nice pipes brother; in tune and not annoying. Nice guitar playing too. Good job. Don't be content just doing the artwork for your brother's band. Go front your own band or go get paid for the singer-songwriter thing.
Bass guitar for me. Guitar, bass, penny whistle and bodhran for my son.

I believe Tim McLoone is friends with Springsteen from way back before he made it big. I never met Tim, but I know people who have spent a lot of time with him - say he's a great guy. Plays keys if I remember correctly.
I guess I'll post my music page as well. I haven't really tried to write a song since I was getting over a girl 2 years ago.
But anyways, here it is:
I'm finally biting the bullet and learning something more than just the key of C on piano, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that'll expand my ability.
I tear up Guitar Hero does that count? Any cross over there?
