In a game that all of baseball was watching, the Baltimore Orioles made a improbable comeback win to defeat the Chicago White Sox. Great win for a team on the rise.

No baseball game in April is huge
um.. i'd say an april game is pretty huge if you're one game from the playoffs in september. ass.

every game counts man, big win for the young guy Adam Jones... clutch hit at the end.... I'm sure the Birds are smiling at their sweet trade with the M's. So far Bedard is injured and we've gotten 2 money players in Jones and George Sherrill the closer (whom i believe got hte W tonight). for the first time in almost a decade, I actually see some promise in the O's future... I like the blossoming young guns they've got right now... should be huge in a few years... Jones, Scott, Markakis should make a hell of an outfield a few years down the road... maybe like the D-backs w/ Upton, Young, and the former bird Eric Byrnes....
pitching hasn't been half bad either.
on that note, the nats blew another game, this time in the 14th inning on a wild pitch.
The first thread was ok because the orioles are off to a good start, but do you have to update us about everything they do? They aren't going to win the division (despite this "huge" win)
You can take that attitude right back where you got it sonny

The correct answer. It wasn't a huge game...it was one of 162. No single game is huge.
Yes, it probably would have been better had they not battled back from three runs down in the eighth and ninth innings and won the game on a walkoff hit in the tenth.

No one said that. What's been said is that anyone who gets overly excited about any single win or loss during the regular season is myopic.
You take it one game at a time, and if your win is exciting, you get excited. Then the next night you go out and try and win again. Nothing wrong with being excited.

This is so true. Get excited! The people of Baltimore need this. Ever been there? That city needs every shred of good news it can dredge up.
Yes, this game will be huge in September...when the O's are 15 games out of first place, along with the White Sox, who will also be on an interim coach by then!
You so funny !!!!
You think of that all by yourself ?
We get excited because these are the types of games we have been accustomed to losing for the past several years. The O's had one of the worst records in baseball history in one run games last year and lost countless games while leading after six innings. For the first time in a long time, the birds are showing some guts under pressure and performing in the late innings. How long it will last, I don't know, but the team is fun to watch right now.
My Baltimore brother, how do you think the O's will fare against the evil empire from the north this series ?
The White Sox are still better. They allowed Baltimore to win. It was a good gesture by them. Don't expect any more, though.
The White Sox have a excellent team but a win is a win. Tell Jenks that chin hair thing is not working.
I would hope we can win at least one against Hughes and Kennedy on Fri-Sat (though who knows with Cabrera tonite) because it is a mismatch with Petite vs. Trachsel on Sunday. If nothing else we need Cabrera to give us innings and not throw 112 pitches through four and dip into the pen early. The yanks are vulnerable at the back end of the rotation and have holes in the bullpen, so hopefully we can put up some runs and take mariano out of the equation.
The o's, no matter how bad their record has been, seem to hang tough against the yanks but the difference has usually been the late inning intangible knack for winning which the yanks have demonstrated and we have not. This years o's club could be different as they won't roll over and play dead when things get tough in the 8th inning onward.
The Birds have to get to kennedy and Hughes early, can't put this series in the hands of Joba Chamberlain and Mariano Rivera... those 2 are studs, I don't know who's a better close, Joba and Mariano or Hideki Okajima and Jonathan Papelbon
