Seriously?
Seriously?
adizero rockets, at least 1000 miles
I got 700 miles on Nike Lunar Glides and then used them as street shoes.
I generally wear shoes up to 400 miles or so but recently I ran some Kinvara 8s into 666.1 miles. I almost exclusively run on concrete but I also weigh only 120 lbs and am 5'8". On the other hand, I heel strike on the outside corner of my shoe which makes the wear highly regional.
700-1000 miles on my Pegasus. I still have a pair of Pegasus 30 I wear for everyday use. They probably have about 800 miles of running and several thousand of walking.
Shoes that i have run 1000 miles in:
Asics Gel Tarther - 1265, another pair to 1052
Asics Gel Bandito - 1042
Hoka Clifton 2 - 1113
Hoka Oddysey - 1085
Lots of others in the 900 mile range. I'm 57yo, 5'9", 155 so I'm not that light. My main easy-day shoe right now is a Hoka Conquest (heavy sucker) at 930 miles right now.
top 3:
Asics Kayano 16 - 1044 miles, these are actually still in decent enough shape to run in.
Asics Kayano 14 - 936 miles
Brooks Ghost 8 - 829 miles
bottom 3:
Adidas Boost Boston 6 - too narrow toe box, gave me black toenails, shoes are fine otherwise - 71.7 miles
New Balance 980 V3 - 220 miles - cushioning was shot, really disappointed in these
Brooks Ravenna 7 - 264 miles - not sure why I stopped wearing these.

As close as I can figure, I have about 750 miles on a pair of brooks st2 racers as of now, and they show no signs of wearing beyond some fraying in the upper.
I have 520 on my ST5's. this was such a great shoe. mine are pretty beat now though.
I have about 4500 miles on two pairs of Nike Pegasus 30s (roughly 2000 on one and 2500 on the other).
Sorry I didn't see the thread was started in 2008 and not 2018, not sure why OP dug this one up.
The adizero rocket. I only became aware of them after they had been discontinued. I was poor at the time and looked to the discount rack for shoes. I had 2 pairs, both of which I got around 2000 miles on and set prs in distances from 5k to 30k. I would kill to get a new pair of these. I tried the adidas sub 2 shoe, but its too loose in the heel for me, and slips so much it makes it uncomfortable to run in. The rockets fit like a glove.
Ten years later, and I haven't beat those '89 Converses or Adidas Web Techs, and haven't tried. But I have about 1450 miles on my current main shoes, Hoka Cliftons. Here are a couple pictures. Bottoms are fine, though peeling a bit. The uppers have been mended several times with needle and thread, but not any further. I'll get 1500 miles in them and call them done.
https://imgur.com/a/bDnX4V4https://imgur.com/a/2kdzCDZ4 pairs of Onitsuka Tigers got me through 7128 miles in high school. Several years ago I started looking for a shoe of similar ability. 5 pairs of Adidas Bostons have now gotten me through 9600 miles the past 8 years. (147 lbs, mid-foot striker)
This sub-elite runner that I follow occasionally on YouTube really wears his shoes down to the last bit
--2 pairs of puma H streets with over 2000 miles. uppers wore out before the lowers.
--nike ekidens (bought new for$19 on eastbay circa 2004)--they were a marathon racing flat, and i would routinely get 1000+ miles out of them.
as HRE posted, most minimalist shoes will last a long time, especially if you rotate them in and out (i would never wear the same pair 2-3 runs in a row). and shoe companies, just like every other manufacturer out there have planned obsolesense, so shoes are designed to break down quickly to force you to purchase another pair.
I usually get close to 1000 miles per pair of Asics gel contends and have so for years. The upper almost always falls apart first. I've also had the uppers ripped on sticks in the woods accidently when it gets really thin. I'm not very fast and am extremely cheap.
People really over think the whole shoe thing.
Brooks Glycerine. Had a couple of the older models (12 and 14) and got about 470 and 440 miles out of them respectively. I am sure i could tweak a few more if i wanted to (but i don't).
Agreed! Asics Sortie Magics and I have 5 pairs of them that never seem to wear out. Some 5 years old.
I have been using the Nike Zoom Fly 3’s for more than 1000 miles, and they are dead. The foam has gone away, and the carbon fiber plate is exposed. It’s actually pretty comical.
