I have been wondering if its ok to have daily mileage longer than the "long" run. For instance, this past week my schedule went like this:
m- 4/10
t- 4/10
w- 5/10
t- 9/7
f- 10
s- 8
S- 14
total 92.
Basically most of my days were 14 or 15 miles with a 17 day. I am just training for the 5k and I heard that 90min for the long run is fine. Is it ok to have days longer than the long run day?
Yes it's okay, but you could do much longer long runs if you wanted. At 92mpw, most people would be doing at least 17 miles for their long run, but that doesn't mean YOU should. Whatever you think works for you is fine, but if you're running that much mileage, you could easily be doing a longer long run.
as long as you are getting in the mileage i seriously don't think it's THAT big of an issue.
just get the work in, you'll be fine

Damn, I checked out Salazar's training and that is awesome training for 3rd grade.
Hope he kept a neater training log once he got into middle school though.

dumb example. a pretty popular rule is to run your long run 20% of your weekly mileage, which for 92 mpw would be 18 miles. so yes, "At 92mpw, most people would be doing at least 17 miles for their long run."

So it'd be better if he dropped the first three morning runs, just so the 90 minute long run which is working just fine for his 5k training fell in line with this rule of thumb? But those extra morning miles obligate him to run longer on Sunday>
