Bianca Knight Turns PRO!

Just one torn hamstring and she'll be just another one of Wetmore's "slaves" and be tossed away..... she doesn't appear that smart OR loyal on some of her posts.

Following other UT athletes to Wetmore? Bev Kearney should be so happy. BTW what has Marshavet Hooker done since leaving UT? Knight is no Alison Felix and some day she'll find that to be true while she waits on customers at a truck stop cafe in Biloxi.

Will Wetmore answer her call then? Reminds me of Charlie Wells.

Knight made a brilliant move...All these college track and field lovers need to look at our sport just football and basketball...I'm sure her contract entails her receiving money to finish her degree as well as $3000,000 or more per year. For her to stay in school and merely go to school free and miss out on an opportunity to train full time for the Olympics would be truly foolish. Her talent at her age is rivaled by none. Obviously the cooperation she signed with understands the potential in her and will compensate her for that. I guess all the people saying that she was foolish never had the kind of talent or opportunities she does at 18.

Running a PB or PR is one thing? Hooker, no medals. No US team, didn't make the finals.... Reminds me of a great potential named Jimmy French, a 20.20 guy was ready to leave school based on the promises of an agent, had a wreck, screwed up his knee, never to run again at that level..... where is he now? OR Darren Plab, a HJer who went 7'8.5 (2.35), or something like it. Listened an agent, then left school and went to Europe for two meets for $1500 each. Blew his Achilles out, had no eligibility to fall back on, is a footnote in the sport at best. All for $3,000. The agents just went on. No accountability. No real loss.

As regards Ms. Hooker, didn't she run for Texas for three years, complete her degree there, and didn't she keep her college coach as her coach after turning pro? (A professional Hooker - I know, I know.)

S*it happens! Stay enrolled, turn pro, see how that work's out and fall back on your degree if the pro thing doesn't work out. too big of an opportunity for Bianca to pass up. She has potential to make the olympic team and that would not be possible with a long college season of doubling up and doing relay duty. Take a chance....

Better late than never. You don't know this young lady. I had the pleasure of watching her develop over the last 4 years. She out worked all the boys on the team. Do you even know her history? Have you seen her take the baton and watch her run down over a 75 yard lead in a 4 x 400? That was her freshman year after competing in three previous events. This young lady has HEART, something you wannnabe's don't understand.

I guess you forget Hooker has only run for 1 FULL year. You act like she's washed up. She just turned 23 this past SEPTEMBER. As for your disdain for Wetmore, why don't you bring up his other athletes....you know...Tyson Gay, DeeDee Trotter, Jenn Stuczynski, Liu Xiang, etc....yeah...they all turned out bad.

Try using facts instead of your opinion....almost sounds to me like you tried the pro thing and didn't cut it...now you don't want anyone else to have success.

Best of luck to Bianca...she'll do fine. As for Hooker, prepare to eat crow after she puts on a show this year.

u goofies she is stayn n school..she just won't run like allyson.she says running @ a conf.champ. then ncaa then olympic trials is 2 much..so she will just focus on the trials which begin n june..I will c her there

How do you lack all that because you're going for your dreams?...If the others were placed with this choice, do you think they'd really be thinking about this? Reality is as reality does...don't knock her womanhood so low just because she's going for her goal!

I'm looking and I don't see too many "stallions" at her rankings that's not in olympic history...it'll be by some crazy freak accident that she doesn't make the olympics...either that, or Bianca not wanting to be in the olympics...

My couz is humble, intelligent, and sweet...as most REAL southern Mississippi blooded women are...she will make the right moves that's best for her...and even others around her if they're important enough to be considered when it comes to her goals...
