is there such a thing as oversstretching.
I believe i might be stretching my calves so much that the opposite is happening and they are constricting even more. Has anyone else had really tight calves that wont go away no matter how much you stretch ice ivuprofin and use the stick..

But yes, you can overstretch a muscle. And no, there is no set amount as to how much is too much.

Yep. Insane calf syndrome has ruined more than a few promising running careers. The OP might be able to recover, but it'll be a long and insane road.
Yes you can overstretch your calves. I'd try some massage on your feet, achilles, and calves. There are DVD's and websites that have instructions.
But hey Mr. Serious - gently OK? Sounds like you need to chill, don't go all medieval on your calves.

One of the best things that I have done for my calf problems has been stretching the muscles on the front of the shin (tibials anterior)http://www.exrx.net/Stretches/TibialisAnterior/Kneeling.html.
Not sure why it works, some kind of action reaction thing...I'm sure someone else can explain it more scientifically.
