Pretty legendary for me lol
7:40 mile freshman never ran before, improved to 5:49 end of season with light training, currently 4:49 junior and going
This guy dropped almost a minute in the 3200 from last year
This guy improved 2 minutes in a 5K from freshman to sophomore year, and over a minute from sophomore to junior year
Wow this is almost a 6 minute 5k improvement!
I ran like 30 minutes routinely as a freshman, now I'm going into my junior year, and I'm at 20:30. Though I would guess going from 22 down to 18 would be more impressive
This is a joke right?
stop spamming, I prefer to read peoples stories rather than go to a random website
Sean Kellogg (St Louis University, KS) ran about 2.5 minutes faster junior year than he did sophomore year

I went from being a smoker starting my senior year in high school and about dying (last place on cross country team including all grades) for a 2-mile run 1st day of practice that I did on a whim right after having a smoke to 4:48 mile, 2:04 880 in track the next spring. Next year tried to run at college and could do about 2k at 5-min mile pace x 3 with 5-min rest inbetween (didn't get a race in to see where I was at but probably 4:2x for the mile).
Probably because unless you have milesplit pro it only shows your ranked results
I was just listening to The Running Effect podcast interview with Hobbs Kessler and I didn't realize he was only a 4:20 miler as a HS Junior.
Ron Warhurst (the coach) pull him aside during the Covid year (all training and almost no racing) and told him that he trained with him (Warhurst), he'd run 3:56 his senior year.
Kessler himself said he though that sounded impossible... to go from a 4:20 miler as an 11th grader to a 3:34 (1500m) as a 12th grader*. That is the best I have ever heard of.
* Kessler also ran a 8:39 2M his senior year. That is as good as any of the super high-schoolers we have around this year.
I ran high-20s my freshman year and won state in 15:teens three years later.
Freshman 1600: 4:56
Senior 1600: 4:18
Jack Richter - 22:27 sophomore year
17:44 junior year.
10:14 in the 3200
