That seems more like engineers being more like runners, not runners being more geeky.
how about we make fun of you for being a slow-ass marathoner? f***tard.
ps. i'm not involved in the pi run. just think it's ironic that a "3:30 thonster" is making fun of any runners for anything.
False advertising. A 5K and a 10K are not equal to pi and 2*pi. F'ing BS if you ask me!
Umm, you will notice it says ~pi miles after the 5k and ~2pi after the 10k. ~ means approximately, now you know.
Sweet, I love it.
I would register if I lived in the area.
How come tey do not run it on pi day-March 14th?
Steven's Institute in Hoboken has one of those too. They just list it as a pi mile run.

You amaze me. Runners can get geekier still.

We did, in 1592.
That's so nerdy it's worth projectile vomiting over.
BTW a "Pi" run in miles is about 55.m longer than a true 5K...
I log all of my runs in pi thousand meters and my heart rate in radians per second.
Mmm...pie.

He's clearly not criticizing them.
The "thonster" moniker clearly suggests an ironic, self-deprecating sense of humor.
Furthermore, you know neither the age nor gender of the OP, both of which could make 3:30 a much better time than you suppose.
So I've got a better idea: how about we make fun of you for being functionally illiterate?
Yeah, that's more fun.

oh my god! you're the bomb! another letsrun poster who pulls the old "illiterate" response when you like to disagree with someone's post.
do you correct spelling too???
and call people "trolls" all the time.
you're awesome!
Most schools with a chapter of Tau Beta Pi (engineering honors society) have a Pi mile run. At my school, they give you your time as a decimal (ie. 16.234) and then break down the times into histogram distributions... they also serve pie afterwards.
I only run phi races now. With an occasional e in there.
Damn geeks, they prob tie a one mile rope to their waists and run around in a circle.
Ha, maybe "functional" was too generous.
I wasn't disagreeing with you; I was mocking you for attacking someone's race time. Incidentally, making fun of someone for being slow is the only Letsrun cliche older than the ones you mentioned.
