Charlie is his boss!
So is is Buster Martin or Harry from "Harry & the Hendersons"?...You be the judge...Nonetheless, it's an impressive feat to go that far at an advanced age
This Telegraph article raises real doubts. Apparently he is also a pop star:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/05/30/nzimmer30.xml
In the article, it is mentioned that Buster cannot get a passport because he cannot produce a birth certificate.
"But amid all the excitement eyebrows have been raised about the amazing agility of Buster and, more specifically, about the date on his missing birth certificate.
The document, which would disprove once and for all those who have doubted that Buster really is as old as he claims, is apparently with his granddaughter in Canada.
The BBC is said to have proved his age through social security numbers but until the certificate appears Buster is fiercely defending his status as a centenarian that was first publicised by his employer, Pimlico Plumbers, three months before his 100th birthday."
and later on in the article:
"His memories make unusually rich pickings for a potential pop star biography. But with none of Buster's children around to clarify the details of his long life, there is a chance that the fascinating truth could be lost amid the demands of stardom."
Good point. I don't think the guy is 101. Looks like he could be about 65 or 70, but what the hell do I know.

I agree, something very fishy there. He looks incredibly sprightly for an old man, never mind 101 years old. He also seems curiously camera shy, anyone else pick up on that?
i agree. the guy wont give his real name and looks a lot younger than 101.
he might be, but i would bet against it. this sounds like an old guy enjoying the publicity he get from this.
he is making all these claims being 101, married at 13, fought off a GANG of robbers
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23387155-details/100-year-old+Buster+fights+off+three+muggers/article.doand no he wants the credit/record for being the oldest person to run a marathon.
the whole things smells bad.
i dont buy it.
just read this post and link.
he is a publicity hound and has been for a while it sounds like.
not a chance he is 101. if he was he would have that birth certificate and be showing it to everyone. he has a press agent, and clearly loves publicity. he just cant/WONT prove his claims.
as much as he loves the attention, his failure to get his birth certificate, which he says his daughter has (but is of course conveniently in canada) is the one thing that is very much out of character for him.
his love of attention would drive him to want to prove this to shut up detractors.
i think the over under for his REAL age is about 65.
Buster on TV
His oldest son is 86 years old. There is nothing fishy.

Yeah, right. This clown is going to walk the course in over 10 hours and take breaks along the way. It shouldn't count for anything, and really it's an insult to the 97 year old guys legacy who was honest about his age and finished the course before a lot of team in training types sixty years younger do today.
i dont know how old he was, but didn't walt stack have a daily routine of a 6 mile bike followed by a 17 mile run followed by a 1 mile swim in cold waters at a very advanced age?
Probably the oldest marathoner!
