Unimpressed cat is unimpressed.
There is no question the guy has talent, and athletics is in the blood as his father is Brendan Quinn- Irish Olympian and record holder for the 'chase.
As an observer I wish him well, his progress shall be interesting to watch.
The guy was only just turned 15 when he ran that 4:00. His father holds the national junior and senior SC records.
The kid ran 3:55 recently...what's the best times for a 15 year old

Hopefully he will go to Providence College like his dad!
3:52 and change for this young lad last weekend..
He is right in the ballpark with the best U.S. 15 year olds.
Big whoop England's Niall Brooks is 17 and has ran 3.41. Far more impressive.
The kid's apparently dropped 12 seconds this year. He might still get under 3:40 at 17.
Hey now, this is LetsRun. Where are all the people complaining that: his growth will be stunted, his parents must be living vicariously through him and he'll hate the sport and quit before he's done with high school.
We also need someone to threaten to call child services and report the parents as abusers for MAKING him train so hard. Afterall they must be making him, no kid can ever actually like to run. Thats absurd.
Come on guys we have standards to live up to. Step up now and take your shots at this kid you don't know and his parents, before it gets out that LetsRun has gone soft.
I saw that Quinn wrote up the piece on the Irish development squad in Portugal. Good writer. I don't really know him but I wish him all the best.
2009 PBs are
16 yo
1500 3:50
3000 8:24 (first race of season and didn't race a 3k for the rest of the season, except the Euro youth champs which was tactically slow)
