Lately, I've been kind of bored by running. All I do is go outside, run for an hour or more and come back in. Yes, it's simple, but that makes it less interesting to me. I feel like there should be something more to it, something that I can be thinking about. Nope, instead it's lots of the same thing over and over again. In most other sports, you can constantly be thinking about different aspects of the sport like your various skills, strategies, etc. But with running, there's only the same thing, day in, day out.
Maybe it's just the winter weather, but does anyone else feel the same way?
The only way I can see to help get rid of this monotony is to start including workouts even though I'm in a base phase for outdoor track. I love doing speed workouts and pushing myself to my absolute limits, but lots of LSD just bores the shit out of me.
