If anyone at Tucson can post top results soon after the race that'd be great. My wife is trying for a Trials qualifier and may not get to her phone until later in the day. Thanks in advance.

I remember how thrilled I was in the the late 1970s to receive in the mail within a week the results of the Buhl half-marathon. Now I get frustrated if I can't get results of a race while it's in progress!

I don't know, but Pam Reid just made a lot of money putting on a shity marathon!
Yeah they changed the course and it's not as fast as it used to be. You'd think that a city that large, with so much money, could get behind a marathon.
(Incidentally, Brandi Erholtz won the women's race in 2:49- something, while my wife DNF'd after trying to make up time she'd lost on a new climb.)
The city is not behind it because the race director sucks.
the city is also not behind the marathon because pam doesn't want it to be behind the marathon.
It's not in the city.
and nobody wants to be behind Pam because, let's face it, ostrich droppings are havoc on your shoes.
I think a lot of us really have our fingers crossed that this race will lose Pam's "leadership" after this year. It certainly looks like that may happen.
I run many club races in Tucson (actually all of them) and this is probably the worst one, we've got 5ks that give out prize money and a marathon that doesn't? Huh?
I heard Pam is accepting an internship with Devine Racing in efforts to improve the Tucson Marathon.

As long as Pam is involved the race will remain sub-par.
well pam owns the race outright now so I guess that will be until she sells it.

Don't let the pam lovers fool you. She makes a PLENTY of money, thus could put on a better race with prize money. Instead she chooses to increase her profit margin by ripping off the runners.

You have never been north of River Road have you?
burn.
Why the idea of trying for a qualifier at altitude? Even moderate altitude creates greater fatigue that can kill after 20 miles. The only runners who qualify at an altitude race are those who could've qualified even faster at seas level. Tucson is a great race (or it was maybe) and shopuld be run for it own sake. But qualify?

What is the most stupid running advice you've ever heard?🤣(It can be funny)
Are Asics, Saucony, and New Balance envious of Brooks, Hoka ,and On?
