I've been coughing up flem for two weeks. I haven't been at all sick in any other way that I know of. I thought it was starting to slow down but I'm coughing like crazy again today. What should I do?

After 10 days of what we call "the crud" around here, I went to the U of M doc and she took my 99.5 temp, felt the lymph nodes swollen on the side of my neck, and told me that I'd developed bacterial bronchitis on top of my cold. She prescribed penicillin. Within two days I was much better; within a week I was completely fine. I rarely take antibiotics--even asprin was a big thing to my mom, growing up--but this was one case where they worked like a dream.
You might have the flem snopes. It's prevalent in Mississippi this time of year.
