that's where i've put my money and it's done pretty well for the past decade. i've got in a mix of funds there.
Yep, been with that one since Roth started..of course I am in American Funds because ED Jones, pushes that one..and that's what I took..but, they have done well..and I will be retiring in 3 years and 10 months!
Rolled some money from my spouse's former employer into American Funds. 31K went down to 29 something with the initial sales charge. 15 months later it is at 40K, So yes, American funds seem to do well. Just started a Roth in American funds as well.
Vanguard or Dimensional (accessible through IFA.com).
I recommend no others.
In her book "Get a Financial Life," Beth Kobliner suggests going with no load index funds (she also has a website,
; it's a little dated, but it's still good advice). I don't know anything about American funds, but Vanguard and T. Rowe Price have no load index funds.
