I've been having some lower back/upper leg pain for the last 2 weeks or so, and decided to go see a chiropractor. The guy was advertising a special - $19 for first visit - and a guy I run with recommended it. Thought I'd give it a try. So I go see this guy, thinking he's going to give my back a good cracking and send me on my way. Instead, I'm in for x-rays, some kind of electrical activity measurement, and a quick "test adjustment". Still, all for $19. Afterwards, the guy says he's going to draw up a treatment plan over the weekend and wants to schedule a few follow-up apts. I'm just wondering, is this all a crock, or is it worth the additional investment? Obviously, follow-ups will be for full price. The guy says I've got a hip imbalance that's compressing a spinal nerve. Any other alternatives for fixing this (massage, etc) would also be appreciated.
