love her or hate her... illinois is not as good of a team this year. The talent hasn't changed (maybe even better with woods?) and they went from being a team that could legitamately win the big tens to barely fourth place today. on the other hand, fsu seminoles are on fire winning the ACC and - possibly - making a run for a national title in 3 weeks.
people want to trash her, but she gets the job done. why did winker let her go and then hire a guy no experience?

Last year the Illini were fifth with 107 points and this year they were fourth with 95 points. Looks like this year's team ran better at the Big Ten meet. A Big Ten conference that is, arguably, better than last year's conference. The Seminoles won an ACC that is down on the women's side.
Obviously, Harvey gets some of the credit for the success of this year's Illini as Braman gets partial credit for this year's FSU team. Rasmussen didn't build this year's ILlinois team and Harvey didn't build this yera's Seminole team. Let's wait to pass judgement until each has been at their school more than three months.
Amen brotha! Why all of the hate for coaches? Just let them coach and we'll see what happens. Some of you just do not have a clue if you think that in 10 weeks a coach can make a huge difference.
There are issues like - how much did they train over the summer, how is the team chemistry this year - attitude toward having a new coach that is male, etc.. Not just as cut and dry as who is a better coach.
She gets a lot out of her athletes but from what I've heard from other athletes she drives them to the brink of insanity and disordered eating to do it with no understanding that these are kids who need balance in life.
Cross is only one area by which a oach should be evaluated. On the Track, KHS has performed very much below the expectations of a team that wants to win the Big Ten Track Championship. In Cross, she does a GREAT job getting her kids ready for OCT and NOV, by track....most of the team is fried.
