No one has ever done it. Anyone who says they have is lying.
I want to try this over the summer. Although I do not drink all that much anymore, my body can naturally handle a decent amount of alcohol and I think if I tried to space everything out I might be able to do it. I think the smartest thing would be to get the majority of your mileage done early in the morning, then have a period of drinking during the day, followed by an easy run, and then the goal should be to finish off the rest of the alcohol as early as possible do sd to get to bed.
never done??? Im an ex Big East runner from the early 90's and let me tell you, this was routinely done by the PC boys. They ran hard and partied harder. And yes, I witnesed their consumption after some of the Big East Championship races and they were scary...
i think i did the vodka equivalent when i was training for boston in 98/99. it was a miserable winter to train through. the big V helped. i don't remember exactly, but i had 7-8 weeks at 100 with 4-5 bottles going down per week. i'd probably die if i did that now. the running OR the drinking.
One thing that in all likelihood has never been done is the 100 miles and 100 DIFFERENT beers.
Besides the logistical nightmare of finding 100 different brews, the mess you'd have in your stomach might make this pretty near impossible.
If someone was to do it, they would have to group all similar beers together and drink them. Have a light beer day, hefeweizen day, stout day, porter day, etc.
If I had no running aspirations and two weeks of free time I'd give it a shot.
It would not be all that hard to find 100 different brews, especially if you live near some local breweries. However, it would mess up your stomach something fierce and it would cost a whole lot more than 100 of the same thing which could be done, depending on where you live, for 30 some dollars.
I think the best strategy would be getting the vast majority of running out of the way early - like 80 or 90 in the first 4 days while drinking moderately - like 10-12 beers/day spread out over 24 hours. Then for the last 3 days you basically just drink with a few easy runs.
