No. If he wins nationals or runs 13:20 it will be, but until then no. As a true freshman he made the USA senior xc team and ran 13:35. He was also 7th(?) at NCAA cross after cross training for 2 weeks leadin up to the race. I'm glad to see him running well again though.
looks like he's back to me.
he was 9th
I figure he will be injured by Nats.
He looked good, but a freshman damn near matched him stride for stride.
big 10's was weak this year. wisconsin and withrow get beat in the sec, pac 10, or big 12.
jealous? sounds like it. didnt looks weak to me. plenty of all americans in that race.
He has run two races this year and won them both, including Dellinger that had a lot of good teams, including highly ranked Oregon. He kicked past Mead for the win and is known for having a brutal kick (it would be interesting to see a finish with he and Lomong running Josh down).
Hard to say what the difference is between Oregon and Wisconsin - the difference is not much and they both have a lot of depth and a couple top-level guys. Note that their number 5 guy was only 30 seconds back and number 8 was not that much further down, maybe about 40 seconds.
Eagon will probably improve, as this is his first race since Indoors nationals and his training ratcheted up at the beginning of the month. A couple of the teams (UTEP, Iona, and NAU? are thin and a so-so performance from any of their 2-5 guys will be difficult to cover, unlike Wisconsin and, especially, Oregon.
Definitely back, although not all the way. He will only get better if he stays uninjured. This guy trains as hard as anyone. The word is he put in big miles this off-season with Olympic Marathon Trials qualifiers. Although no one asked, I believe he's a darkhorse qualifier for '08 Olympics in the 5 or 10. I also believe that is his major goal and he's gearing up for it right now.
When he's been healthy in his brief collegiate/competitive chances, he's beaten Ritz in XC and Solinsky in the 5K. He has the biggest killer instinct of anyone.
