I don't care about the NAIA, but apparently all these other morons do.

Win your region, go to nationals. End of discussion. NAIA has a crap system but everyone in it knows it's a crap system. I used to run in NAIA...if you don't like the qualifying system, just wait till next year. I swear they change it like the wind.
The problem with NAIA is that there are really really good regions and really really bad regions. There are really really good conferences and really realy bad conferences. You could have a region or conference where half the teams should go to nationals and have an entire region of the country where no team should go. That's just how it is in NAIA. Coaches move, schools disappear (Life, VIC, etc)...that's just how it is. If you want to qualify in NAIA....just be first.

Could not have said it better! I am in region 5. I think we are one of the deepest regions, if not the deepest in the country. I think our region should get 2 at large bids, but it prob won't happen. Instead you'll have these crappy teams win their crappy region that couldn't hold a flame to the #4 or even #5 best team in region 5!
It's funny you say wait till next year for the rules to change, because the rules ARE changing next year! LOL (And I'm not joking about the rule change)
Screw the rankings, its all about SFU vs. UBC. That and Gant's sister.

Apparently, you cared so much that you decided to comment on it and prove that you really don't care. Good going, moron.

Qualifying changes back to the conference system next year.
So likely only the top 15 teams can count on at-large births. At-larges are always based on rankings, unless you go with a weighted system like the NCAA. But that is not very appropriate for the NAIA due to the constant fluctuation. Which is also what makes the NAIA cool, no group of teams dominate the top 5. Any team can quickly jump up there with one stud, above average recruits and a few years of hard work.
Unlike the Calvins in DIII, and the Adams St., Western, Ab. Christian at DII.
Mike
sorry if you think regions 5 is possible the best in the country you've got quiet a shock coming. top 4, sure but top, not a chance.
If your coach submitted them this morning, they are invalid results. The NAIA rulebook specifically states that:
1. Race reports must be entered every time a team runs to be considered for the rankings.
2. They must be submitted within 24 hours of the race.
So if your coach did submit them this morning he/she screwed up and needs to know the rules. What team do you run for anyway, all this complaining but no one knows who you are talking about! You and your coach need to figure it out, its not rocket science![/quote]
I did not say he reported them today I said I saw the confirmation today he sent them SATURDAY as soon as the race was done at like 2pm!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well what team is it moron!
What they need to do is make super regions based on geography not conference, because conference backs you into to many corners.
Then take 2 teams out of 8-10 regions with 10-12 at-large teams based on head to head matchups. We need to get back to were people want to seek out and run against ranked teams in surrounding regions and stop this 2 meet type seasons.
Its killing out sport.

EXCUSE ME! YOu posted your message on 10-22-07 and that is a MONDAY. On that day you said,
" B. I SAW coach report it this morning and he had the verification too! So it was in!"
So either you are stupid or a lier.

Just because you start a post on Monday does not mean it happened on Monday! As well since rankings come out on MONDAY it would make sense that the POST would start on Monday. Perhaps I miss spoke but if you want I can email you a scanned copy of the CONFIRMATION THAT IT WAS SENT IN SATURDAY at 2:11pm THANK YOU IDIOT.
You see, my mistake was to think you were telling the truth. So, on Monday when you posted and you said that you saw your coach report "today" I assumed that you were intelligent enough and/or honest enough to state it correctly. Obviously, I was wrong. Probably on both counts.
If and when you can figure out what actually happened and when, let us know.
I wish I could meet idiots like you to kick your a#$ on the track... why do you have to be so stupid I just admitted I may have made a mistake so take the almost apology and shut up !!!
So I wrote Today instead of Saturday deal with it and stop being a dork!
When i was in college running all the NAIA schools were loaded with Kenyans (Lubbock Christian, Ab. Christian).
This lead us to believe NAIA stood for:
No Americans In Athletics

hey, you stop being a dork and tell us your team...by the way if your ranked 10th in the region you have no reason to be complaining anyway...your not good.

Well winning a meet doesn't mean you deserve to move up, depending on what kind of competition was there. And I would not even be concerned about regional rankings anyways. And I didn't see any teams that dropped from 3rd in any region to 10th in the past week. Unless you meant they were ranked 3rd at some point in the season and now are 10th. I did just quickly look over the rankings and maybe I missed it, but i didn't notice any huge drops.
I think the only team ranked 3rd that even dropped was Cedarville (ohio), and they only moved to 4th. So i am curious to see who this mystery team even is. And i wouldn't get too excited about having 5 guys under 27, maybe 5 guys under 26.
Hit the Nail on the Head
What verification form did you see on your coaches desk. I am an NAIA coach and there is no verification sent to you. You report the scores and hit submit. Thats it!!
I agree that the rankings are crap, but whoever said Region 5 is the top region is off by quite a ways. Just with a quick look, it seems Regions 1, 2, 3, and 8 are stronger, at least at the top.
One thing that annoyed me is that in the region rankings: they ranked 6 teams for my region at the beginning of the year, then 8 teams for a few weeks. Just after we beat the seventh team in our region, they only rank 6 from our region. I know my team is not a nationals caliber team this year, but it still irks me to see that happening in the region rankings.
One reason that some schools that were previously being ranked are not longer ranked may be because a team that is clearly not going to be nationally ranked and has met the required minimum of 4 reports prior to the regional meet simply stop reporting. The ranking rules state that if a team does not report then they cannot be considered for ranking.
Hey i was wondering which the best schools are in the NAIA. I missed the boat on the whole ncaa thing because i'm now 23- i know that NAIA doesn't have as strict age limits as NCAA's. Ive ran 1.49 and 3.46 i'm from Ireland and would love to get a full ride in the US- Do any NAIA schools give foriegn students full rides?
Cheers
