I seem to recall the Rockies were 90-73 in the regular season. Doesn't compare to 96-66 for Red Sox nation.
i seem to think winning 21/22 is more important at this point than going 96/162; i could be mistaken though
Sox in 7....first November World Series game ever.
Sux in 6. Rockies will be at a big disadvantage when they have to play at Boston and use the dh. Most national league teams extra players are for defense and this hurts them in the world series when they have to dh some guy batting 230. (Actually that is what hurt Cleveland with Hafner in a slump)
Just remember Sux fans that it was Victor Martinez who got you that homefield advantage with his homer in the all star game.

Rockies if they win consecutively.
Red Sox if they win any. The Rockies are what you could define at 'hot'.
The only way the Red Sox win the series is if they cool them off early.
I'm hoping the Rockies win but I think the layoff may have stymied their momentum. The Sox had to get hot to get to The Series. I'm hoping there aren't any blow outs.

There will probably be guys selling, but I don't know how much less than $750 it will be.
Rockies in 5
Are you serious? The difference between 90-73 and 96-66 is almost nothing on a percentage basis.
Seven days was too much rest. Sox 4-2
Sox in 4. Deja vu 2004.
Oh, and J.D. Drew gets the MVP. Book it.
I would guess most people outside of Colorado would pick Boston just because how many people could name 4 starters on the Rockies without looking it up? Before the playoffs I probably couldn't have named 2 and I think I watch quite a bit of baseball. I am also wondering how come no one is bashing Manny still for saying a loss wouldn't be the end of the world? Looks like that worked out okay for them.

The rockies in 5. The Red Sox will take Game 1. The Rockies will win the ensuing 4 straight. Great things come in 3's the 3 H's (Holiday Hilton Hawpe) and the 3T's (Tulowitzki, Talebra, and Taveras). Matt Holiday will be the MVP as he will have a field day against Schilling Matuzaka and Beckett. The underated pitching of the Rockies will finally shut Manny Ramirez up. 21 for 22 speaks for itself. Let's not forget they just SWEPT the Diamondbacks who had the best record in baseball leading up to the playoffs. Game 1 Boston, Games 2-5 Colorado.
Rockies in 5...good time to leave in Colorado!
Rockies in 7.
I do think the layoff may hurt the Rockies a bit. See: Tigers in 2006 Series where both teams were hot, but the Tigers didn't play for, what, ten days or so. It definitely hurt them. However, their pitching is decent and there defense is the best, by far, in baseball. The boys need to start hitting though.
Sox in 5. Making it look easy. Call me an east coast, American League snob but I just think the Rockies' JV season is over and now they have to play the big boys. Oh and I can't take the Colorado fan; they act like it's a high school football game.
I apologize for the harshness of this post.

Too bad the Rockies had the long layoff. The Sox played very well.

Sox were hot. But so were the Rockies... 8 days before the World Series began. That's inexcuseable that baseball set this up to happen. There's no sport in which an 8-day layoff hurts you more than baseball. Sox probably would have still won, but still the 8 days off didn't help the Rockies one bit.
shut your ass up. how did baseball "set this up to happen"? maybe we should just start the world series a few days earlier if a team sweeps the NLCS, and the ALCS teams will stop playing their series and just flip a coin to see who plays in the world series.
Being a MEts fam i'll admit I do like KAZ Matsui
