For those of you (I have read on some other threads) who even mention the idea of moving the Chicago marathon to a later date, I would probably punch you in the face if we were in person. October in Chicago is LATE ENOUGH. We had some FREAK weather this weekend, but changing the date would ruin the race in the future.
Just 3 days after the marathon it\'s 48 degrees and windy. It feels like the dead of winter to me today after the weekend of 90s. October is like that, and I\'d say the majority of the time 48 and windy is what you\'re going to get on an October day in Chitown. I have no sympathy for people running 5 hour marathons and complaining about the conditions, the course, or the preparations...clearly they themselves didn\'t have the proper preparations to complete 26 miles faster than 11 minute miles...or walking pace. If these people trained through the summer, which they claim to have done, they would have definitely done some long runs in 90 degree weather...How many people have water stops every mile of their long run? Not me.
