Alternative entry selection for the BCS ranking.
Florida and LSU play in a weak overrated conference. ND has just won 1 game. USC can lose 2 games in the PAC-10 and still should be ranked #1, the PAC-10 is so strong again this year. They need to get rid of the BCS and have an NCAA brackets playoffs.
ND and USC are guaranteed top bowl games because of TV ratings. Advetisers decide who plays in the bowl games, the BCS is just a formality.
If the BCS is such a joke. Why is LSU so enamored with it? The SEC is not very good; way overrated. Georgia at #12 loses 14-35 to unranked Tennessee. LSU beats, at the end, a Florida team that lost to unranked Auburn. The great SEC teams this year are Kentucky and South Carolina, teams that were supposed to get pounded by the Elites SEC teams. The BSC has to go. A playoff system is best option. The BCS is meaningless and grossly subject to style points, and manipulation by coaches who cry to a weak media.

Instill a playoff system and see how "unweak" the SEC truly is. Florida made Ohio St. there little play thing last year. The SEC sent nine teams bowling last year and six of them won. USC would be blowing a LOT more games if they were in the SEC. Just wait until Florida and LSU go bowling and see what happens.
Oh... BTW, South Carolina already got bitch slapped by LSU. Neither Kentucky or South Carolina are a major challenge to LSU or Florida. And that unranked Auburn team can beat almost anybody when they show up. The comparison between the P10 and the SEC is laughable. If they matched up teams from both conferences and went at it the P10 would lose more then they would win... easily.
Yawn...........................LSU is this years Ohio State.

LOL... This years Florida team could do the same thing to OSU they did last year... and LSU is better than them. But by all means go through the season believing LSU this year isn't much better than OSU last year. That is one of the craziest statements I have ever heard. There really isn't even a comparison. OSU only played one decent team the entire year last year (Michigan) and almost blew that game at home. LSU has beaten three top 20 teams in six games so far. Va Tech parted like the red sea for LSU South Carolina didn't do much better. I guess we will just have to see how things play out.
Florida and LSU are the two best teams in the nation.

Fine by me... you already proved you have poor judgment when you said South Carolina and Kentucky were the "great teams" in the SEC... forgetting about South Carolina's failed attempt against LSU. But maybe you are used to miscalculations. Whatever... You'll just have to see for yourself. And you're right... This conversation is making me sleepy... unless you have anything of importance to say.
The PAC-10 is again the best conference in the NCAA including football. This is no joke. 6-6 in the PAC-10 is 10-2 in the BIG-10, BIG-12, and SEC. But we have the BCS which IS the New York television and media companies and who love LSU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Florida, Florida State, West Virginia, Rutgers, Nebraska, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Clemson, Texas, Texas A&M, etc. Why ? because that's where they went to school. Too bad for the PAC-10.
I guess I see it differently. If they matched up here is how I see it the SEC has nine teams that can finish in the top 25: LSU, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Auburn, Arkansas and Alabama. They won't finish in the top 25 because they all have to play each other.
The P-10 has four: USC, Cal Oregon and Arizona St.. UCLA is just not that good.
If you are talking about the Top 25 polls then I don't know what to say. I don't give polls much creedence because it's not about the game, the voters are nostalgic and loyal to their alma maters. I would leave that to you. Predicting how pundits stack up teams is of no interest to me. I only think of a hypothetical NCAA brackets. I think based on the teams (vs. the polls) only LSU from the SEC would make it from an inital 64 team bracket to the Sweet 16. USC, Cal, Oregon State, Washington, Oregon, Arizona State, would make it to the Sweet 16.
University of California-Berkeley would kill the Louisiana State University.
I mean, look at how many times LSU went for it on 4th down last night, that was really stupid coaching. You're at home and have the momentum. Kick the field goal rather than make that 4th down attempt. Had they not scored, Les Miles would be public enemy no. 1 in Louisiana

The SEC is the strongest conference. They, and the south in general, will stay that way for years to come. The days of ND pride are over. Todays players, and rightfully so, are about sunshine and rims. Goodbye to Knute Rockne love, Boiler pride, Husker nation and hello to Miami Vice, Gainsville ganaja, Baton Rouge b*tches or what have you.
With that said, BC plays in the weakest of realms.
I'm old, but I like the old way better. The old system had teams playing in traditional bowl games and I loved arguing about who would/could be number one.
I understand why so many people want a playoff, but I thought it was fun the old way. When a team with 2 losses knocked off an undefeated team in a bowl game upset it was great.
I just don't think we need a "true" national champion in every sport.
That's just my humble opinion. I used to enjoy the New Year's Ever/Day football games. More of them had meaning because of the chance of a top contender being beaten. Now, only the "National Championship" game really means anything and they moved it out of New Years Day.

Wow this makes absolutely no sense for so many reasons.
First: LSU and the SEC are overrated b/c LSU barely beat Florida, and highly ranked SEC teams are losing to unranked SEC teams. Hmmm, this pretty much is happening in EVERY conference across the nation. Big 10: Wisconsin and Michigan. Big 12: Texas and Oklahoma, Big East: UL, Pac-10: USC. This happens EVERY YEAR you fool.
Second, you say Kentucky and SC are the \"great\" teams in the SEC, while SC lost to LSU, yet LSU is overrated? How can LSU be overrated? They won every game so far this year? You can\'t do any better than that. USC hasn\'t. USC is the most overrated team in the country thus far; ever more so than Michigan. USC could easily be 3-3 right now, all 3 loses to very bad teams too. If the SEC is overrated, so is the rest of the country.

The Pac-10 is so strong again? Who? Cal and Oregon? No one else is strong. USC? ASU? Washington? UCLA? Come on. The Pac-10 is turning into a two horse conference this year. ASU barely beat WASU, and they might be the 3rd best team in the Pac-10. UCLA lost to ND, but they seemed able to beat Stanford. The Pac-10 is weak outside of Cal and Oregon.
At least we all can agree on one thing...the Big East sucks. There's no way South Florida is #6 in the country or whatever they'll be in the new polls.
That's the view of the few pundits who vote on the football polls. They're alums, sportwriters, they are drunk, on weed, have no idea, and only vote for their school. I ignore the polls, and only watch the tapes and the players. The PAC-10 is loaded, the best conference. If there was an NCAA brackets, 9 teams from the PAC-10 would be invited, 7 teams would make the Sweet 16, the NCAA NC would be Cal, Oregon, USC. I like LSU being from the SEC myself, but they won't have played any good teams by the end of the season. LSU may do well in the New Years bowl game, but I don't think LSU or Florida are at the same level as Oregon or Cal based on the play that I've seen thus far.
