Felix is running the 100 this weekend at the World Athletics Final or whatever. Sanya is running the 400.
What gives?? Brojos, exert your influence and fix that right up.

she doesn't want to run any longer than 100 meters because she is afraid of her explosive diarrhea getting all over the track
She doesn't want to rain on Sanya's GL parade too soon. She gave previews of 2008 at Stockholm and Osaka this year. Next year, it's total war.
Like all other athletes they only do it for the money. I am sure there is not enough money involved for her and Sanya to race now
She IS in school and what she's really going for is sub-11 in the 100, which is a major goal for her. She already ran sub-22 and one of the fastest 4X4 splits ever run. But her 100 hasn't improved (by 0.01) despite working on it, so it's 10.99 or bust at WAF. She is only running this one race, then back to school. She arrived back from Osaka a week behind.
Plus, there's no appearance fee at this meet. If you're going to get those two to go head to head in a non-championship meet, you'll need to pay them each a huge amount to come to the line. I doubt if we'll see them race against one another over 400m until the Trials.
I agree with you Coach D. Plus, I see AF as a decent person. I think she beats Sanya in a 400 because her speed is superior. There is no reason to race her head to head right now.
Unity amongst the athletes. She didn't want to blow a fellow 400m runner's shot at a half mil. Better a 400m runner get the press than a pole vaulter, in her eyes. Only adds to her event's prestige.
Really, if an athlete only has a meet or two to get that golden jackpot, it's kinda dick to take off races and then swipe it from them in the last GL meet. If you wanna move up or down an event to that, do it at Oslo or Rome, not Brussels or Berlin.
Sanya Richards already has her half million...would still have it if Felix beat her at the World Athletics Final, which is NOT part of the Golden League.

My point was that Felix chose to give up the $50k-$100k appearance fee Brussels and Berlin would have paid her, and instead began classes at UCLA, allowing Richards to have a better shot at the $500k. The WAF is beside the point.
It's USC, not UCLA, and finishing her degree is the primary focus, now that the World Championships are over. She already started school a week behind when she came back from Osaka, and doing another GL meet just to "get" Sanya would have put that education goal in jeopardy--at least for the short run--and Allyson is too good of a christian to do a stunt like that, anyway. With sponsors and all, after the performance Allyson put on in Osaka, she couldn't just walk away until next year, and doing just the 100 in the WAF as more or less a cameo appearance (she qualified in 100, 200, and 400) was probably the least she could get away with
Gotta love a rivalry...no doubt Felix is a classy athlete with a bright future.

good thing she had religion! if she didn't have that she'd lose all of her morals and want to take money from others as often as possible!

Is this familiar:
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's
Competing in the last GL events like, say, Michelle Perry is one thing, but when Allyson was not in the jackpot competition because the 200 was not a jackpot event, leaving school simply to knock Sanya Richards out of $500,000 is something that might cause a lot of good christians (I mean REAL christians, not bible-thumping republicans) to stop and think about the morality of the situation.
Does she really have explosive diarrhea?

Hard to believe anyone would denigrate AF's achievements for any reason. She's 21, doing her work to get a college degree, and a world class sprinter who can go short or long from her # 1 position in the 200. What's not to like except for the jaded.
