It's going to be a long rainy winter.
It's going to be a long rainy winter.
If he sits out this year how old will he be when he does start playing? 35?
This is like Christmas for the boys over at my favorite website:
Long term this could turn into a great thing for the Blazers. They aren't going to win the championship this year with or without Oden. So this way, they get to suck for one more year, get another lottery player next year, and have two young studs to rebuild around starting in 2008/2009. If Oden were to play this year, they would probably be just good enough to not get one of the best players next year.
There is nothing worse than mediocrity.
How did that theory work out with Bowie?
HA-ha.

Well, being less then mediocre would be worse.
That same sort of theory worked out pretty well for the Spurs.
The Blazers were a pretty solid team the second half of last year. I don't see them in the lottery even without Oden this year. They could even possibly make the playoffs without him.

Wrong. Being less than mediocre means that you're just good enough to not get a great player in the draft. I should clarify and say that in the NBA, nothing is worse than mediocre.
Hard to imagine the lucky success of that David Robinson injury ever being equalled again. Not only to pick up the #1 pick the one season your franchise player misses due to injury, but that #1 pick panning-out beautifully in Tim Duncan. It would be like Lebron James being out the whole year this year and the Cavs picking up a Durant type player with the #1 pick next year while having Lebron return to health.
What? Tim Duncan was not drafted the year David Robinson came back. David Robinson also was not injured, he served his naval commitment.
The blazers won't make the playoffs this season. They let Randolph, their best player go, and now all they have is young talent.
bet you wish you ran wrote:

yes he was. robinson was out for the year prior to tim being drafted. that allowed the spurs to get the number one pick.
Josh McRoberts just crapped his pants.
Well just when I thought Blazers were going to be good again... Man the sonics and Blazers are going to blow my dick this year.
