I was running today and stepped the wrong way while coming down a hill about half a mile into a 5-mile run. When I stepped on it, it kind of felt like I sprained something in my foot, and it ached a little the rest of the run. I just got back from a tibial stress fracture, and I am doing about 20-some miles a week. Since I started running, I removed some inserts in my shoes that I have been running with for a few years and started running without them. I also have been experimenting a little with barefoot running, but I haven't done that much. Is this a stress fracture? Right now it doesn't hurt that bad, but it does hurt when I twist my foot certain ways. The pain is on the right side of my foot and I can't really get it to hurt by pressing on it. If not a stress fracture, what is it? Thanks.
