The City of East Lansing has also turned an extremely cold shoulder to the student population and increased noise violation crackdowns to limit partying.
Maybe it's because the City didn't appreciate students rioting in their city and smashing windows for no purpose other than the Spartans winning or losing a final four game. One of the neat stories from the 1999 riot included a crazy kid setting fire to a bush in a local lawn and then pulling the woman who lived in the house away by the hair when she tried to put it out. It's very hard to understand those uptight people in East Lansing.

I went to UCSB when it was on that list, and parties there seemed ok, but they were NOTHING compared to the parties I went to at USC, which never shows up on that list.
I would tend to agree. I think UCSB gets its reputation from the fact that the campus is literally right on the beach and everyone is fairly attractive and laid back in a surfer kind of way. But the caliber of student admitted is also very high and people study as hard as they play (at least the non-communications, non-sociology majors do).

Is that the ocean on the right and mountains in the backdrop? Hard to believe it's not a party school.
what is the def. of a party school? booze- no sex no - never study no- what makes for a "PARTY" SCHOOL?-
I believe Little 5 at IU Bloomington would be your answer.
Yeah no way Florida should be that high; partied there and doesn't compare to Florida State or UCF for that matter
Is Chico State still up there?
the study in the past has broken down party schools into categories such as best beer drinking, pot, hard booze, etc. I recollect that some smaller east coast colleges made the beer list last year. Then again, my mind is a bit cloudy.....
Little 5 is still the best party on any college campus. Especially when the Cutters win!

What about these famous party schools?

All should be in the top 10 easily. WSU should be #1.
I remember a while ago Playboy came out with a ranking of party schools. They had a disclaimer: We know that Wazzu (Washington State) should be number one. But, we are ranking amateurs and they clearly are professionals.
Wazzu is not what it used to be prior to Playboy visited there. Used to be the number one party school for decades! I think playboy visited there right after the new prez, and he cracked down on the party scene. The reputation of Wazzu will always be a major party school even if it isn't in the top party schools anymore. I was there in the mid-90's where u could find a major party every day of the week.
