The only thing keeping Alan from being the American GOAT is not winning a NCAA title! He is still young enough to go to a D1 school for track season, win the 1500-5k and then run the olympics.
If he never does that he will never be the best.

He'd have to return all of the money he has made running and racing and endorsements. Not realistic
yea, cause winning NCAAs worked out so well for guys like Berryhill. An NCAA title really is the key to success.
Why does someone of his talent need the NCAA, ever?
If he wants to be the GOAT and be thought of alongside Coe and Ovett, he needs to do the 800/1500 double next year. With what he did this summer, he could win both.
The only thing keeping him from it? how about an olympic or wc medal? that might help also...
I believe he is out of NCAA Division 1 eligibility. He's 5 year clock started in the Fall of 2001. Now it is Fall of 2007. He's done from an NCAA Division 1 standpoint. Though I think he still has NAIA eligibility.
hes turned pro the clock is a non factor, he's no longer an ametuer!
Ya I can see that. Alan Webb, you owe the NCAA 7.2 million dollars. Is that gonna be cash or check?

He runs for Nike, perhaps Oregon can figure something out for him. It seemed to work alright with Rupp.
I bet he could run for oregon if he paid back all of his nike money and prize winnings
Going back to the NCAA would be like a Major Leaguer going back to the minors.
Maybe he could go back to high school outside Virginia and win some more state high school titles again too...?
WOW!
He is an epo cheat
i guess allyson felix should go to college also. turn in her world gold and olympic silver so she can win the invaluable ncaa medal...
alan will come home from osaka with the hardware, or beijing, etc. who needs the ncaa when you are faster than all of them?!
show me the money!
