Why do you assume they were commenting on your time and not their own and trying to make conversation with you?

The tone of his voice, the look on his face and the fact that he walked away once I said yes and he made his comment.
But maybe he did want to talk, maybe he wanted me to wait around for the entire race to finish and he was going to find me afterwards...
Oh and he didn't run the race, I think he was their coach. He waked up to me as cross the finish line.
No coaches were present. Maybe he was upset at the obvious shortness of the race?
After every race all I see the Rebels doing is drinking beer and making goofy faces.
Obviously, they are not very serious about their racing.
Maybe, not sure how he would know it was short as I was one of the top finishers. He couldn't have compared times to any of the FF athletes, as none of them had finished yet when he made that comment to me.
So many of the comments on here are negative about FF. I tried to give them the benefit of doubt, but this was my first real interaction with them.
Maybe the guy I meet was just lame.
Can't we all just get along.
That's what I like about them. From what I have seen they have some master runners that no one around here can beat (including myself).I mean really, no one around here including RR and FF are running so fast that they should think they are elite. It's kind of weird when an adult with kids treats a road race like he is in the NCAA XC Championships. Then goes out there and drops a blazing 16:05.I ran Sub 15 for a 5k in high school. Now married with kids and a job, I'm just glad I can run a few days a week and still go out there and run 17 to 18 minutes. And the beer is Carbo loading, DUH!

Moral Margaret,
Meet me out of the bike trail for a long run sometime.
I would like to show you my "O" face.

I think I have it figured out. The only non racing FF member out there was the husband of winner of the women's 5M and she was less then 3 minutes behind you. So he probably saw her come and thought "no way she could run..." and that's when he started the short course stuff. I think everyone pretty much knew it was short right when they finished right?
I know several people that ran with Garmin 205's on the 10 miler and they all came out with 10.0 for the course.
For the 5 miler a friend of mine said he got a measurement of 4.8.
But I know that Garmins are exact either.
No, when he said that to me third place hadn't even finished yet. But yes my Garmin had the course at 4.89 miles. I knew it was short when I decided to start my kick and realized I was already at the finish.
Maybe I'm putting too much thought into it.
Maybe I shouldn't judge the whole program on one comment. It just seemed like a shot at me, when there were no other finishers to judge by.
Maybe I should stop thinking about it, get back in good shape and drop some decent times. Then when I run that slow again, he can say "man that course must be long."
