if you run 30miles total, 5 runs a week, with one of those being a 16miler, that gives you 4 4 mile runs to do the rest of the week.. I'm not convinced this is the best or most enjoable way to train, can't you alternate between 5x7mile runs one week and 4x5mi+1x15mi run the other week? it's only 35mpw and probably will reduce injury risk and be more fun.
I know you didn't ask for training advice so sorry if you got pissed off :p
P.S I guess you should probably run 3.30/3.45 judging by PB since fitness is much easier to regain than it is to get in the first place.
Knowing myself, I just don't know if I really would run 5x/week.
My thoughts had been a long run on Sat. of 16, moving up to 1 20 mile run and at least 1 more 18 miler, maybe 2 of those.
Then for runs during the week, maybe 2-3 6 mile runs at an easy pace.
I have no intention to run any speedwork. I want to make it to the starting line and not hurt myself.
What you suggest makes sence to me. And I am not pissed. My "training" is terrible. The long run is key for the marathon and I do want to make sure I get a few more long runs in.
I am sure I could do 20 right now at an 8:30 pace, but there are a lot of miles after 20 to cover.
One of these days I need to sit down and actually plan out a training schedule for a marathon. I do not recommend my way.
