Hey all,
I have a week until I get to start running again after a 5-month hiatus due to multiple stress fractures in my foot. A question for those who have been in this position: how do you recommend I build back up? Since getting injured I've been biking almost exclusively, but even so I feel like I've lost a ton of running fitness after 5 months off. I've gone sub-30 in the 10, sub-1:06 in the half marathon, so I want to eventually train at a high level again.
I've heard and read about various programs involving mini-fartleks -- 2 min really easy on, 1 min off walking for the first week or so -- but I'd like to hear some other ideas. Thanks in advance for any help/guidance.
