You really think there aren't doctors out there who would allow and help people to abuse PAS?? Just because someone has graduated from med school doesn't mean they're also automatically Mr. or Ms. Ethical.
Case and point: A couple years ago my wife went to the hospital for minor outpatient surgery. She said that she didn't really need pain medication, but the doctor went ahead and prescribed her Oxycontin. Oxycontin is a schedule IV federally controlled substance and physicians are supposed to use extreme discretion when prescribing this medication (i.e. - terminal cancer patient, someone who just broke everybone in their body in a sky diving accident, etc.). My point being, doctors aren't always pillars of good judgement.
