800 - 4 x 400 w 2-3 min jog
1 mile - 4 x 800 w 4-5 min jog
5000 - 4 x 1600 w 4-5 min jog
10,000 - 5 x 2000 w 2 min jog
Half Marathon - 8k Tempo run @ HP pace
Marathon - 20 mile progression run

Multiply those workouts (aside from the marathon) and you have some good sessions
Mile Session -- 6-8 x 1k at 5k race pace....90 sec. recovery
Need Some Insight - yes you do
the only events I train specifically for these days:
8k/10k-- Broken 1100's: 800M near race pace-->300M all out. 5 reps or so.
Marathon-- 4x 5k just under MP, w/ 3:00 rest
