Guerra (ECU) still running strong at 39 with a 2:22 in the heat after being semi-retired for close to a decade. Nice, and great race by the Americans. Excellent performances in those conditions.
-
Just found this in researching Frey. Who else is still running well from 2006 class of Road Runner Scholars? Akbar, Nephi Tyler (what has he done lately?), Matt Gonzales (in and out of injury?) and how about the other two women?

Great job, Jacob Frey! -
Guerra was also doing the Pan-Am duathlon I believe. Any results on that?
-
Great job Jacob I am very happy for you. I still remember when a certain coach of yours said you would never run well in hot conditions because you wanted to run LA instead of Boston...you showed them man!
Congrats and I look forward to seeing you at the trials! -
short course
-
Short course?? its an international championship!
I watched Frey run a very tough and well fought race. I wouldnt negate his performance or any of his hard work. -
Frey is an animal! The guy is in sick shape right now.
Moral of the story: William & Mary guys are bad mofo's. -
There's more chance of Webb's mile and 800 meters be short, than the marathon at Pam american Games.
-
great run jacob!
-
net downhill course.
-
Course had a couple rollers and was dead even. Not at all a fast course. Give credit where credit is due and quit pouting.
-
Tailwind.
-
Is there a subway near this course?

While I will echo your "Great job, Jacob" sentiments, I must say what Jake himself told me was that this "certain coach" you speak of told him "you won't run great in the heat if you continue to fear the heat". Looks like Jacob has overcome the fear.
GREAT JOB JACOB!! -

GREAT JOB JACOB!!
Sorry to say it, but mate of Christmas past has the story a little more accurate than you do. I just so happened to be there when this certain coach made said statement about Jacob never being able to run well in the heat.
AWESOME JOB JACOB!!!!!! -

Great job, Jacob Frey!

Well, my fault I must have misunderstood. Then again, why are you saying this???? Jacob has obviously learned to deal with the heat, so he has improved his situation. This coach you speak of has greatly improved his team's situation as well. Why not just be happy for the both of them???? Have an axe to grind???? Since you were there when this was said, are you still there now???? If you are no longer a part of that greatly improved situation that exists with that coach's team, did I find the axe???? Are you also upset that Jacob is running better than you are????
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, JACOB!!!! -
I am upset that Jacob is better than me.

This made me laugh, but I think you're serious. I'm not disrespecting Frey or the run. High 2:16 is good, especially considering the heat. But, let's not go overboard. 3 unknown South / Central Americans finished ahead of him, one of them was 37 years old.
