How did you come up with your final answer on welfare?
I think that welfare works pretty good. My mom and us four kids lived 2 years on welfare. We then transitioned to food stamps, reduced lunches at school, etc. Then we consumed our share of BEOG/Pell Grant funds in college. It took all four of us 6 to 8 years each to work/run our way through college. Now we all have kids and I think that it is safe to say that they will never need to be welfare recipients again.
Most conservatives think that welfare is a disaster. I can tell you what would have been a disaster...eliminate welfare and let families like us turn to a life of crime to put food on our table. The first house I would have looked to rob would be yours...
