i concur. her form is horrible. her arms look like they are a foot long and her constant looking around and thrashing her head around...just terrible.
If you want style points, follow gymnastics. She made the team.
i agree Donahue was really digging hard the whole race. i have never seen that from her, but she usually just rabbits races so she never gets a chance to tie up.
Keep your nastyness to yourself, people like you suck! I"m sure that Erin would kick your butt any day on any track. Nobody works harder than her and deserves to be on the team. All she has done this year is get better and better with each run (PR today again). Just because she's not an anorexic doesn't mean she's not fast, ask the skinny girls she beat today. Please keep your negative thoughts to yourself in the future!!!
Makes you wish for the days of Favor and Jacobs doesn't it?
Sending 4:08's to the Worlds instead if 4:00's.
Doesn't bode well. PLease don't say a 4:08 "deserves" to go, because they are just getting there by default.
What's up with the US women's distance running in general? Aside from the top 3, the 5k field was very weak. The 1500 was worse. At least we've got Deena and Goucher in the 10k.
Strange, but I guess these days there is even less incentive (than men) for US women to continue training after college. Society I suppose.
Or is it that we are finally sending "Clean" Athletes. Oh yeah, they don't deserve to go. They need to be all juiced up on something. How dare they!
Seems like a lot more of the top collegiate females hang up their spikes after graduating than males.
Erin's run near 2:00 for a PR in the 8 this year and that little bit extra speed is what got her to Osaka. I expect that she will run in the 4:05/4:06 range this summer and perform admirably at the WC with a better than even chance of moving to the second round. This is better than average than what the US usally gets from the 3rd qualifier to a world champion meet. So I guess she does deserve to go, much like the person who started this thread deserves a smack on the head. In this case, at least Erin will get what she deserves.
the timeclock doesn't care what your form is
most of you posters are jerks. erin works hard and stays in the sport when many give up and you want style points and call her a beast. screw off, learn to respect the sport.
Wanted to pass on that Erin has improved her 1500 by 8 seconds this year. That's phenomenal! Just think what she'll do when she stops "shaking her head and moving those long arms around". Maybe she should cut off her ponytail to get a little faster too.
Actually - our sport in terms of numbers needs far more Erin Donohue's, both on the male and female sides, and I applaud her success. She is an excellent all around athlete, competitive in the javelin even at the college level. A number of women with her overall athletic skill are happy playing softball, soccer, etc. and do not turn to running (much less focus like she has done to become a national class athlete). Whatever her form, she has speed that is inextricably related to her athletic skill. Great to see her succeed and improve from her post collegiate days.
And I could help noticing what a gracious and well spoken winner today there is in Treniere Clement.
thank you. you understand.
Hall ran a huge PR in 4:08 I think... The better of the HAll family this meet for sure

Sending 408's? Only one girl in this race ran 408, and everyone of htem most likely will run faster then 408. And i don't think anyone wishes for the days of Jacobs. You can go worship drug cheaters elsewhere.

What is the most stupid running advice you've ever heard?🤣(It can be funny)
