True, we'll never know. In a players world, Ohio State and Florida would have lost 3-4 games last year if they played outside their own weak conferences. The irrational SOS cheats and compensates for easy games by carry forward points from the previous season. USC had the strongest schedule and lost 2 games. To go undefeated and bitch slap Oklahoma makes Boise State the players and coaches #1.
Do you know what would happen if Boise played Ohio St. Florida Auburn Tenn or even USC
The playing field is not level anymore. The western teams are better in the WAC and PAC-10. Boise State beat Oklahoma who matched up well for their area of the country.
4 star Generals who were Rhodes Scholars are in command of the U.S. Army, yet are losing the war in Iraq. So much for book knowledge, shiny medals, and impressive college degress. The so-called college football experts don't mean shit, the players decide the game, not the yak-yaks.

Will BOISE STATE repeat as the Football National Champions?
LoL!!!
Only on your Xbox 360, and even THEN you will need to turn the difficulty level waaay down so that the Gators and the Trojans don't annihilate you!
However, thank you for supplying the potatos that help our In 'n Out Burger produce those freshly made french fries. Boise IS good for something!
Trojans maybe, Gators not.
Oklahoma has 16 nationals championhips...count it...
Oh, by the way, in all technicality there is no, NCAA Division 1-A national championship...there is a BCS National championship....the NCAA doesn't recognize the bowl pattern. The schools and athletes are under NCAA jurisdiction but there is NOT an NCAA D 1-A national championship b/c they don't do playoffs. Thats why you never hear "So and so is ncaa football champions" you hear "so and so, last years BCS Champs"
Oklahoma Football has zero NCAA National Championships. Last year they played in a weak conference then lost to an undefeated Boise State team that ended up the College Football National Champion. Tough luck for the Sooners. USC and Oklahoma trade off each year with the most NFL players. Since NFL coaches tend to favor thier alma maters for coaching and player jobs I would admit the stats are skewed by favoritism. Too bad we don't have a playoffs in D-1A.

No.
They didn't win the BCS Bowl...
They didn't finish # 1 in ANY poll...
So, they are champions of their bowl game, period. Now, please go back to your french fries and hash browns.
I disagree with some of the comments about BSU and Oklahoma.
Boise State was a VERY good football team last year. They can't help the conference they're in. But, they didn't just play patsies. For example, they simply annihilated Oregon State which beat USC and finished 10-4 or something. The non conference schedules of MOST big conference powerhouses are usually VERY weak. Like Nebraska playing Troy State etc. I think BSU could have lined up the day of the Fiesta Bowl and had a chance to beat almost anyone..THAT day. That said, will they go undefeated this year? Not a chance. Washington will beat them. Nevada, Fresno and Hawaii could also. They have a good system there at Boise that will always place them towards the top of the WAC but this is not national dynasty material year in and year out. I still think if there was a playoff, BSU would not have won it all. Florida vs USC is the game I would have LOVED to have seen.
Oh, You can say Boise got "lucky" or had to rely on stupid trick plays to win at the end of the Fiesta Bowl but they were actually dominating 3/4 of the game and made some stupid mistakes to let OK back into the game. NO disrespect to OK. They were actually a MUCH better team than people were giving them credit for last season especially by the end. Crap, they won the Big 12 championship game. And unlike many major powers who schedule only crap OOC, OK actually played Oregon and Washington -teams who were at least in a major conference. Washington was actually much better than their record--they played a LOT of teams close (including SC and Cal). By the way, the Huskies will be even better this year (I'm NOT going to be stupid and say they'll beat Ohio State in their 3rd game but it'll be closer than the Flagpole types will want).

Contradictory and ignorant.
You say Florida plays in a "weak" conference, yet Boise State deseres a #1 ranking after going undefeated in the WAC? That's hilarious.
Also, they didn't "bitch slap" OU! It was a very close game.
BSU is BS and #1. It's no easy feat to go undefeated in the WAC or PAC10. If they lost a game then they'd be a the level of USC or ND. But they beat OK and everyone else. The BCS rankings have no merit given the SOS joke. Take that away and the fact that FL and OSU had a lightweight list of opponents and that leaves BSU as #1. Nuf said.
Florida and Ohio State were the lucky ones. They played in a weak conference and ended up playing weak teams outside their conference. Either team would have went down in the initial rounds of a hypothetical NCAA playoffs. The silly BCS awards in undeserved.
I Think MAYBE
Florida and Ohio State were in weak conferences last season. Funny how Oklahoma had a relatively good year in the Big12 but lost to Boise State. Because of steroids, HGH, weight rooms, ESPN/Fox tapes of games, the teams in the west are now as good as the rest of the U.S. If it weren\'t true, the BCS wouldn\'t have to cheat by using the Al-Quaeda designed SOS scheme to bolster up Ohio State and Florida. You know it\'s true. We\'ll never really know with an NCAA playoffs.
I Think MAYBE.
I agree with most of your argument, but Oregon State was a much different team toward the end of the year than they were when they played BSU early. It's no different than an Arkansas team which was absolutely crushed at home by USC in the first game but played pretty well in maybe the top conference in the country last year. So it's a bit disingenuous to use that particular example. Hawaii was also a very good team last year, and BSU went over to Honolulu and beat them, so they did beat some solid teams, including the Sooners.
You hit the mark. Arkansas was as rotten a team when they lost to USC, as they were at the end of the season. But the polls kept increasing their value just because they played USC who was #1 for much of the year. Polls should not determine the brackets as they do now in the BCS for just that reason. We need an NCAA playoffs, with 64 or ? teams, no airline mileage points from the former season. A playoffs as in all other NCAA sports, where the youngsters decide the game. At the beginning of the season, each 112 D1-A school should have a equal chance at the NCAA NC, and the playoff brackets decide the champion.
This thread is ridiculous.
I hope it's just one person posting under multiple names... do people really believe Boise State was the best team in the country? They played 2 good teams all year. They were ranked poorly in the BCS formula because they had a poor strength of schedule, duh!
One sore loser masquerading as all of the nay sayers ? Miracles happen. Just ask Boise State.
It was a fantastic game (and I hate Oklahoma). Hopefully some good will come of it (playoff!)I'm just being realistic.

I am fairly certain that the vast majority of people on the boards agree with you.
The topic subject itself is antagonistic. It is just some guy's blatant attempt at trolling. Probably nothing else better to do now that the Halo 3 beta test is over, so he needs to find another outlet for his ignorant trash-talking.
Muy incorrecto, mi amigo. Oklahoma aint bad atall. It's the Oklahomans that suck.
