I loved them until they ruined all the peer to peer networks with their buddies from the record industry.

I remember Lars tried to call "Roam" the "Kashmir" for the 90s ... that was way overstated, but still a pretty good tune.

"One" and "Fade to Black."
"The road becomes my bride/I have stripped of all but pride/So in her I do confide/And she keeps me satisfied/Gives me all I need." Nuff said. "Wherever I May Roam" is by far the most applicable Metallica song to running. As well as my personal theme song.
Mike, I was at that show on August 31, 1985 in Oakland also. I have seen at least 150 metal shows in my life, but that Metallica set was the best ever. I did not own any tapes/discs of Metallica at that time, but I became an instant fan of them.
They were still young and hungry at that time.

Metallica went on about 3;30pm, in the summer heat, and came on with CREEPING DEATH and 60,000 people going ape shit.
I'd say that, of all the great tunes that Metallica gave us, Creeping Death is the quintessential Metallica song, with Blitzkrieg running a close 2nd.

Seek and Destroy off of Kill 'Em All.
Ride the Lightning
For whom the bell tolls
