Is there a list of top Americans who plan to run? It seems like all the top Americans are doing New York or Chicago leaving the national championships wide open.

Dan Browne and David Morris are running Twin Cities. And for the women, Christine Clifton. There are a few other decent names
Here is the list I have, but I was looking for a complete list of men. USA:
Dan Browne, Jim Jurcevich, Chris Lundstrom, Brad Hauser, David Spiller, Peter Sherry, Peter De La Cerda, Eddy Hellebuyck, Dennis Simonaitis, Chris Graff, David Morris, Brantley Lutz, Kurt Keiser, Phil Castillo, Scott Bagley, Mark Andrews, Chris Banks, Peter Julian, Peter Gilmore, and Greg Jimmerson. Also, masters: Charlie Hubbard, Kevin Haas, Tony Banovich, John Mirth, Steve Wilson.
There have been at least a couple of changes in that list. Jurcevich is doing Columbus, de la Cerda is doing Chicago.
The big unknown, IMHO, is Brad Hauser. He ran a very good half-marathon and could shake up the field.
Also, Teddy Mitchell is running and is in MUCH better shape than ever, for a marathon. I think that he is ready to pop a good one!
Jason
I believe that Chris Wehrman will also be running and he ran a 2:17:50 in his debut last year. I expect huge results for Chris.
This is also a debut for Chris Graff who said in a RW online interview that he wasn't going to run a marathon if all he can produce is a lousy 2:15 he went on to say that he would only run one when he is ready to run 2:10. I predict that Graff will lose to Wehrman and over 50% of the Farm Team will DNF
Ray Appenheimer from the Nike Farm Team is also making his marathon debut
Isn't Browne running NY?
Eric Tollefson will debut- a few weeks ago he ran a 1:05low half in crappy conditions mostly by himself. I'd say 2:14-16.
Ryan Meissan of Wisconsin Runner will be makeing his first marathon apperance. He's pretty good (1:04 half at Grandmas this year)
how about on the women's side???
Kevin Collins is also running.
Me!
This isn't Meissen's marathon debut. He ran Grandma's when he was only 17 and ran a 2:46 with not much training. I expect him to be in the top 10 this weekend. He gets better as the distance gets longer. Go gettim goulash!

Master Danny Martinez is also running. Tough tough guy. 2:14 marathon PR.
Almost beat Eddy at Carlsbad this last Spring.
Regarding the women's field at Twin Cities, the following information was included in a news release in August. Since then, I believe that Magdelena Lewy has backed out of Twin Cities due to an injury. I'm not sure about the rest of them since this release is so dated:
The U.S. Women?s field boasts two former U.S. Marathon Champions, Julia Kirtland of Harpswell, Maine, a Macalester College graduate who won the 1997 U.S. title, and Kim Pawelek of Jacksonville, Florida who won the title in 1999 at Twin Cities Marathon. They?ll be joined by Susannah Beck of Eugene, Oregon, fourth in the 2000 Olympic Marathon Trials, Christine Clifton who currently resides in Milan, Italy, who ran 2:32:47 at Chicago in 2000, and Magdelena Lewy of Berkeley, California who finished second at the Pittsburgh Marathon this May in 2:36:48.
hey jason,
get off this TEDDY MITCHELL sheit! the guy is done(not that he has done squat over the past 4 years or so)he ran like shit again at cow harbour, i don't care if he had 140 miles in his legs going into the race...the TIME IS STILL SHIT.
he won't event finish twin cities, and i will be back here to tell you "i told you so"
I never count anyone out in a marathon. There are always surprises. Actually, I hope they all run the races of their lives. It's a good field with some people who have run some very consistent marathon times over time and also a few guys who have had the luck to pull out a fast one. I hope they do it again and pull a few others along with them.
I think I see a bet forming between "in the know" and "Jason."
Great Cow Harbor was on a warm, stupidly humid morning. And besides, times ion that course will always look slow -- there is a massive hill in mile 2. In fact, the hill IS mile 2. Clint Wells ran 2 minutes slower than his track run earlier this year and kicked everyone's butt.
That a guy the size of Jeff Jacobs could get the CR given he had to push a frame his size up that hill bumps up against boundaries of biophysics.
Teddy may run like shit, but he won't drop out. he is pretty good about that. We need more runners like Teddy who aren't afraid to speak up for what they believe in. Runners are, by nature, boring.
