What is the deal with how bad the rest of the Big 10 Men's T&F is right now? Other than Wisconsin who is really doing anything at the NCAA Meet individual or team???
The Big 10 Women are loaded in almost every event area, why not the men's side???

Too many old coaches that are lazy. Too many young coaches who have just started their programs.
I agree though, with all the seniors Wisconsin is losing, you'd think someone could give them a run. Instead, I predict the same old domination.
Wisconsin - best coaches across the board. Distance guys are always on stand-by to run up the score.
Illinois- Angel is a used car salesman. Nothing in the throws and very minimal distance. Last place indoors.
Minnesota - Has been the consistent #2 team of late. A good all-around balanced team. Been lacking a bit in sprints and losing Buzzard will hurt. Plaz may be starting to help the track team out!
Penn State - Beth may be busy with the womens program. Did decently this year outdoors, but struggled indoors so maybe being at home really helped.
Ohio State - 4th indoors, but struggled outdoors. Gary is one of my favorite distance coach speakers, so I hope he can turn it around. Have heard that the coach that was there before dug him a bit of a hole. However, I have always believed that OSU is a sleeping giant.
MSU - Awful indoors and out. Don't believe they will be much-improved anytime in the near future.
Michigan - Getting to be a decently well-rounded team, but I am betting they still have way too much distance scholarship. They have so many high school studs and I really think Warhurst lets a lot of very good runners fall between the cracks while he really gets the 1 or 2 guys that are running good become great. I don't think Michigan's men have a finalist competing in NCAA.
Purdue - Warner seems like the program is finally improving a bit. But they have struggled since he took over. No distance at all going on and Helmer may really shut Purdue down.
Indiana - No comment. I can't believe that Chapman is staying without being paid. I have heard some shady stories about Helmer.

Apart from the favorite in the 800m of course, which is totally irrelevant.

Michigan's hurdler won Indoors also, but how can we be talking about 1-2 other schools with NCAA finalists, and most of them with none. Especially when the women's side is so good in so many events.
Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, and MSU are "down", but being down in the Big Ten should not be the same as being down in the MAC or the MVC.
Iowa - ???
OSU red-shirted some good distance runners...
Illinois brought 3 guys to NCAA's. Their pole vaulter cleared 16'4". Their 10,000m guy ran 30:04. Their 400m runner is in the semi's tonight. Almost everyone they had sucked really, really bad at Regionals.
The Big 10 may certianly be down, but it is always better than the MAC. Nowhere near the depth!
Agreed.
Anyone even the least bit bright knows to look at season or yearly performance list when comparing the Big 10 to the MAC.
MAC losers love to point out a tactical conference race and say whomever wouldn't have even scored blah, blah, blah.
After three days 56 men's teams have scored points. The only Big 10 team besides Wisconsin on the list is Michigan and that is from their 110m hurdler.
There are 6 track events and 2 field events left.
There are two potential scorers in the TJ (Minn & MSU). None in the shot put. None in the 400m hurdles. One guaranteed in the 800m run (Mich). One guaranteed in the 400m Dash (Ill). Only Wisco in the 1,500m. None in the 4x400m relay.
This is not one school having a down year. This is a "BCS" conference with fully funded scholarships, full coaching and support staffs, great facilities, and top 10% travel and equipment budgets that sucks in Men's T&F right now.
Would Wisconsin win a meet against the rest of the conference put together???
Colin Sahlman runs 1:45 and Nico Young runs 1:47 in the 800m tonight at the Desert Heat Classic
