Apparently the judge is very cross with the sheriff.

Where's Mothers Against Drunk Driving in all of this. Remember, she's in jail for violating probation on a conviction of DRUNK DRIVING. Basically, what Sherriff ChewBaca is saying is that it's OK for rich celebrities to go out, get hammered, drive irreponsibly, maybe take out an unsuspecting family along the way, because we don't want to hear you sit in your cell and cry all day.
This is an absolute travesty of the justice system, and I just hope, the Judge who sentanced her is outraged enough to take away her privledge of having a room by herself and put the little rich tramp in the general population with the other common folk who were busted for DUI.
She was "sick"? They have hospitals in jail.
She was "suicidal"? So what. That's why they take away shoestrings and whatnot. She can be suicidal for three weeks as long as she has no means. After that, it's up to her.
Jon Stewart's suggested headline for Paris getting out of jail:
"The Shaw-skank Redemption"
leave the poor girl alone, judge just wants some publicity

If she is so suicidal why can't she just do it and put us out of our misery?
It would be a "mercy killing."
she prolly blew the sheriff to get out of jail. wonder if they made a sextape out of that?

Coincidentally, Jack Kevorkian just got out of prison. Perhaps Paris could be his first patient.

To make this running related, I believe that Sherriff Baca is father of David Baca, who was a decent high school runner:
–1983 Arroyo Grande Invite at UCSB’s Lagoon course: David Baca (San Marino), the son of LA County Sherriff Lee Baca, took the Boys’ run at 15:40.
-1983 Dos Pueblos Invitational - David Baca (San Marino), son of current LA County Sherriff Peter Baca, had the day’s quickest clocking at 15:36, with Andy Allen (SM) 15:45 to take a junior grade race behind him.
Stupid Spoiled whore!! Where you can all be just like me!! A STUPID SPOILED WHORE!!!

Hey dummy, the judge had nothing to do with letting her out. He is pissed and has the option of charging the sherriff with disobeying a court order. He will put her back in prison today and she will sleep in a jail cell tonight.
She wasn't jailed for DUI. She was jailed for driving without a license while on parole. All this hysterical reaction to her release amounts to people being pissed that their 23 days of delicious schadenfreunde was brutally truncated by some dumb sheriff. Get over it. If you are poor, anonymous and slutty and are convicted of driving without a license while on probation, chances are you don't get 23 days in jail time or 45 in house arrest like you do if you are rich, famous and slutty. When people are screaming that it's crap that this minor celebrity is allowed house arrest, they are essentially saying that if your house is too nice, you have to go to jail. You should get punished for being rich. Now that certainly appeals to everyone's inner Robin Hood, but it isn't equitable and it isn't just. If you don't like the fact that some people are rich and that their kids are rich without trying, go move to Upper Volta. Me? Bring on the frikken money.
Well put indeed.
What can I add? Only that if the poky is really as filthy and threatening as most of you gleefully assume, that in itself is enough to spring her (or anyone else). Cruel and Unusual Punishment, you know. That covers torture, rape, and miscellaneous other threats to life and limb. She was sentenced to three weeks in jail, not three weeks of being at physical risk. If the authorities cannot follow the sentence and provide for her safety, they have no business locking her up.

Oh my Lord, can you imagine the orgasmic frenzy Greta Van Susterne et al would fly into? All we would need is an Al Cowlings or semi-retarded surfer dude (I forget his name) character. Stern moralizing from O'Reilly, perky insights into the nature of depression from Couric, a stuttering apoplectic rage from Matthews blaming Karl Rove. I would have to go back to three weeks of The History Channel. I would become an expert on Pompeii or Visigoths or Atlantis.

I can't stand Paris Hilton either, but wanting her to commit suicide is a bit extreme. She is the way she is because she was raised that way and continues to act like a spoiled brat because that is what she gets attention for. It's not right for her to be famous for being famous and have more money than she knows what to do with without earning it, but that is reality. I do hope she is going back to jail because that will be the best thing for her. She's always gotten what she wants without suffering any real consequences.

what are the odds more than 2% of letsrun posters know what "schadenfreude" means without looking it up?

It would be funny if they tried to look it up, couldn't find it, and were just misearble.
I don't care that she had sex tapes released. Big deal. I don't care that she is famous because she is rich.
I don't like her because I have seen a tape where she uses insulting racial terms and makes fun of people from public schools and this stuff gets overlooked. I should be more angry at the businesses that still promote her as a pop icon but I still cannot stand her.
I don't want to see her commit suicide in jail but I don't care if she cries 23 days straight while in jail. If she has a nervous breakdown while there, she should be treated by a medical professional at the jail. She can hire her own if she likes.
If the judge gave her a harsher sentence than others would get, tough luck on her part. She did the crime, she now has to face the consequences.
